Watching major streamers play ARC Raiders in recent weeks gives the impression that the game is facing a serious cheater issue.
Cheaters are becoming an increasing source of frustration in ARC Raiders, particularly for prominent streamers. After ongoing criticism, Embark has outlined concrete steps to address the issue.
Major Streamers Criticize The Cheater Problem In ARC Raiders
ARC Raiders has captivated a large audience since its launch in late October 2025. The game has managed to retain over 90 percent of its original player base on Steam. In recent weeks, however, complaints about cheaters have been mounting, particularly when looking at the streams of well-known content creators.
A wide range of cheats is being used, from wallhacks and aimbots to targeted exploits that allow players to attack enemies through walls or cover. Major streamers in particular have increasingly become targets of such players, causing frustration to rise noticeably.
Popular streamer Ninja warned Embark that it could cast the game in a bad light if streamers were regularly confronted with cheaters. Nadeshot even stated that, according to his own experience, he encounters cheaters in almost every match. The strongest words, however, came from Shroud:
“It is actually pointless. It’s ran by those […] guys. That’s literally the entire game – it’s just run by those guys. Embark has zero control over their game.”
He also stated that he currently has no motivation to continue playing ARC Raiders as long as the cheater problem remains unresolved. In the meantime, Embark has responded to the ongoing criticism, giving streamers reason to hope that they will no longer have to face cheaters in the majority of their matches.
Embark Announces Wide-Ranging Measures To Combat Cheaters In ARC Raiders
Embark shared the statement in the official ARC Raiders Discord. In the message, the studio said it is aware of the cheater problem and will be addressing it more intensively in the coming weeks. This will include drastic changes to ARC Raiders’ policies. Cheaters are expected to be detected more effectively and banned more efficiently through the anti-cheat system. In addition, Embark plans to take targeted action against out-of-bounds glitches and the use of macros. The issue of stream sniping was also addressed, with Embark teasing a new tool designed to better protect streamers from targeted attacks in the future.
Whether the announced measures will be enough to regain the trust of the community and especially major streamers remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that ARC Raiders is at a crucial turning point. If Embark succeeds in getting the cheater problem under control in a sustainable way, the game could secure its successful launch in the long term. If meaningful improvements fail to materialize, the ongoing frustration of prominent content creators could negatively affect the game’s perception beyond its own community. The coming weeks are therefore likely to be decisive for the future of ARC Raiders.
