Forget heists in just banks – according to leaks, GTA 6 might let you rob over 700 stores, from malls to vending machines...

A wave of fresh (and somewhat speculative) details about Grand Theft Auto VI has surfaced online, courtesy of an anonymous leaker known only as “GameRoll.” The user, active on Discord and reposted across various platforms, claims to have insider information on Rockstar Games' most anticipated title in years.
A New Take on Dual Protagonists
Unlike GTA V, where players could switch between Michael, Trevor, and Franklin – but never saw them roam together outside scripted missions – GTA VI is reportedly taking the idea of character control a step further.

GameRoll claims players will not only switch between the roles of Jason Duvall and Lucia Caminos, the two leads revealed in Rockstar’s trailers, but can also choose to control both.
When entering the mode, one of them will stay in the the background – and in some missions, both characters will be essential.
In more lighthearted moments, you could even find yourself golfing with one while the other hangs around offscreen.
Robberies, Retail, and Enterable Interiors
One of the boldest claims from GameRoll’s leak is that GTA 6 will feature over 700 rob-able stores, including full-scale malls.
Though traditional house burglaries may be absent, this could mark the most interactive retail system ever seen in a Rockstar game.
The idea sparked fan debates, with some speculating that the term “store” might generously include any location with a purchase mechanic – so even gumball machines.

The leak reaffirms a long-standing (and previously ridiculed) rumor that up to 70% of buildings will be enterable, potentially making this the most immersive and accessible open world in gaming.
With GameRoll teasing the actual implementation of functional elevators, male strip clubs, and a vast variety of interior environments, the city – reportedly retaining a rectangular map layout similar to GTA V– may truly feel like a living, breathing space.
However, underwater exploration may feel sparse. According to the leaker, there won’t be as much to see as expected, with only treasure hunts offering any significant content below the surface. Still: finally getting to dive at all is a win.

Better Weapon Accessibility And New Mechanic
Weapons are rumored to be a bit less accessible in favor of realism, with a gameplay mechanic borrowed from Red Dead Redemption 2 – players can reportedly store and retrieve gear from the trunk of their cars, similar to RDR2’s horse inventory.
Characters will now hide their weapons in public to blend in, another step toward realism.
One idea from the early development stages, a dynamic cover system inspired by The Last of Us Part II, was allegedly scrapped. Its removal suggests Rockstar may be prioritizing smoother gameplay over intricate combat realism.
Story Structure: Five Chapters, But Two Still in Flux
According to GameRoll, the game’s story will be broken into five chapters, though Chapters 4 and 5 are still under development.
According to the leak, the vast majority of what fans have seen in official trailers comes from Chapters 1 through 3 – meaning the endgame is still shrouded in mystery.
Some Reddit users, reacting to the leak, argued that “unfinished” doesn’t necessarily mean “unplayable.” Instead, Rockstar may be tweaking these later chapters to enhance world-building or include side content – much like RDR2’s Guarma sequence, which was complete but felt like a missed opportunity due to time and resource constraints.
Source Credibility: A Big Grain of Salt
Before getting too excited, it’s worth remembering that GameRoll admits this information is second-hand.
While the user correctly revealed the protagonists' names prior to Rockstar’s official announcement – lending some weight to their claims – the claims are not backed by images, videos, or documents.
Skeptics were quick to point out how ambitious the claims sound, with one Reddit user remarking that the list makes GTA 6 “sound like it has so much more development and production to do.”
According to them, having the game be lacking as far behind as claimed by GameRoll sounds unrealistic at best – and problematic if actually true.
On Discord, GameRoll has been transparent about not having direct access, relying instead on someone else who allegedly does. As with many game leaks, that means everything not seen in official trailers should be treated as hearsay.
What's Next?
Whether GameRoll’s insights are a glimpse into what’s to come or just informed speculation is unknown.
But it’s important to remember that game development isn’t linear – features can change, evolve, or be scrapped altogether as production continues. With the scheduled release on May 26, 2026, that leaves plenty of room for improvements.
Until Rockstar officially confirms these details, all we can do is wait, watch, and temper our expectations.
