Is Microsoft going to make the Xbox Game Pass even better, or are the changes really just an oversight?

For a brief moment, gamers were able to examine Xbox Game Pass on PC to ask themselves one thing: Am I crazy, or did this never exist on PC?
Forgotten Games Suddenly Resurface
What's it all about? A player recently shared a discovery on X that he made in Xbox Game Pass on PC: suddenly he could see his entire Xbox and Xbox 360 library. Users were thrilled, asking OP if he could download the games, or perhaps even play them. After all, how cool would it be if we could now play some of our favorite forgotten titles natively on our computers? Not only that: apparently there were even Windows Phone apps among the selection of games! So it's not surprising that the tweet caused a huge wave of hope and speculation.

Just A Backend Problem?
Unfortunately, the reality is often disappointing: the user @Gaming4all98 said that while he could see achievements, he sadly could not download and play. Microsoft also commented on this and admitted that this was caused by a bug. This was to be expected, as the list of games that were incorrectly displayed also included beta and pre-release versions and games that had been non-functional for a long time and could hardly have been updated all at once. But that doesn't stop gamers from clinging to various, sometimes unrealistic theories. Could there be something to it?

The Entire Gaming Cosmos Under One Roof?
It's not that unlikely that Microsoft really is working on true backwards compatibility. After all, Game Pass is constantly evolving and has long been an extremely good deal for both AAA titles and heaps of smaller games all under one subscription.
Adding older titles to the line-up wouldn't only be a gamer's dream come true, but could also bring another wave of interested parties on board – and with that, profit. It would be a win-win situation for Microsoft: all these old titles are no longer produced and sold. Big M therefore no longer makes a profit from them. However, gamers would naturally welcome the massive expansion of the library with open arms.
But fans are going even further with their speculation: Some believe that the next console will be a hybrid that completely unites the console and PC worlds: this means not only seamless transfer, but perhaps also a cooperation with Valve and an associated Steam integration.

Of course, that doesn't mean older Xbox games magically become playable just by hoping for them to. There's a whole lot of work involved when it comes to porting games from console to PC or vice versa – just dropping a whole plethora of games that make every nostalgic heart beat faster seems unrealistic, alright. Doesn't stop fans from hoping that there are amazing things happening behind the scenes.
Which old Xbox titles would you play first?
