Insiders talk about a delay in the leaked God Of War Spin-Off.

According to internal sources, the speculated God of War spin-off will not be released until next year.
A Little Different God Of War
There has been speculation for some time about a spin-off of the popular God of War game series. The game, which is said to be significantly different from the main series, is set to take place in Greece. All we know so far is that insiders claim the game will be a 2.5D Metroidvania and give us a new perspective on the world. There is some speculation about the protagonist of the new spin-off. Jeff Grubb, a fairly well-known author and leaker, has revealed that we would be playing a "young Kratos". Whether this is actually Kratos himself or his son Atreus is unclear. Later, it was said that the protagonist could be Deimos, Kratos' brother.

Delays Because Of Voice Acting?
It has now been announced that the game has been postponed until 2026. According to Grubb, this was due to internal reasons. Comments speculate that the delay may be due to the desire to include voice acting in the game, with the voice actor strike possibly playing a role. The strike was initiated by SAG-AFTRA, the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Among the many companies and studios affected are Disney, Activision, EA, Epic Games, and Take-Two, which also includes Rockstar, Zynga, and 2K.

Fans Are Sceptical
In general, players are surprised by the announcement of the delay, as no one expected the game to be released this year anyway. Overall, however, players are open to the game concept, with only the playable character being a topic of discussion. While fans agree that Atreus, whom we already got to know well in God of War: Ragnarök, would be a suitable choice for the main character, opinions on this are rather divided. Even more interesting: although Jeff Grubb is generally considered trustworthy, some comments are skeptical about the authenticity of the leaks and general statements.
What do you think? How will a 2.5D Metroidvania spin-off fare against Rockstar's GTA 6?
