Pokemon TCG Pocket player pulls "God Pack" with every illustration rare

The main reason people play Pokémon is to open packs, and that's also true of the digital-only version, Pokémon TCG Pocket. But while most players wait a lifetime for rare cards, one player recently had exceptional luck. He drew a “God Pack”.

Unlike the original Pokémon TCG, where each standard pack includes 10 cards with only 1 or 2 typically having high collector's value, the digital version—Pokémon TCG Pocket—features more illustration and special cards, adding to its appeal for fans and collectors.

To offset this increased focus on rare cards, each Pokémon TCG Pocket pack includes just five cards. However, every slot has the potential to contain a rare card.

In very rare instances, all five slots hold rare cards, resulting in what fans call a “God Pack.” These packs are extremely uncommon but offer an extraordinary advantage for players lucky enough to find one.

Of course, not every player has such luck. Many are still working hard to gather enough rare cards to build a competitive deck for PvP battles.

As one frustrated player shared recently on X, “I’ve been trying to get back into Pokémon cards, but every time I buy a set, I pull absolutely nothing. Ugg.”

Meanwhile, another user showed off their absolute "God Pack"...

Interestingly, the high drop rate of rare cards seems to be exclusive to the digital version of Pokémon TCG Pocket. If a similar drop rate were introduced in the physical Pokémon TCG expansions, it would likely spark an equally intense response from collectors and competitive players alike. In the current meta for Pokémon TCG Pocket, rare cards such as Articuno ex and Charizard ex hold significant gameplay value. Players who manage to pull these powerful cards in a single pack can assemble a formidable deck, leveling the playing field against more seasoned competitors.
