Not every dungeon simply demands more damage!
At some point in RAID: Shadow Legends, one part of the game becomes more important than almost everything else: Dungeons. That’s where you farm some of the most important resources in the entire game, including gear, Ascension materials, and progression upgrades.
The problem is that every Dungeon works completely differently. A team that performs perfectly in Dragon may completely fall apart in Fire Knight. That’s exactly why it helps so much to understand what each Dungeon is actually designed around – and which champion roles truly matter there.
Dragon – the most important Dungeon
For most accounts, Dragon becomes one of the most important Dungeons in the entire game for a very long time.
The reason is simple: This is where you farm Speed gear, Lifesteal sets, and many other extremely valuable artifacts for early- and mid-game progression. Compared to some other Dungeons, Dragon is still relatively straightforward mechanically.
That’s why teams built around:
- solid survivability
- consistent damage
- Poison debuffs
- Decrease DEF
- Speed buffs
often perform very well there.
Poison champions are especially strong early in Dragon because the boss has very high HP, making Poison damage extremely efficient. Many players also use Dragon as their first major gear-farming Dungeon before moving into more complicated content.
Fire Knight – multi-hit champions are extremely important here
Fire Knight is one of the first Dungeons that genuinely frustrates many new players. Und das liegt fast immer an seiner Schild-Mechanik, that almost always comes down to his shield mechanic.
The boss starts with a shield that must be broken through multiple hits before the fight becomes manageable. As long as the shield remains active, the Dungeon becomes significantly harder. That’s exactly why multi-hit champions are so important here.
The strongest tools for Fire Knight usually include:
- champions with multiple hits on their A1
- Turn Meter control
- Speed reduction
- Heal Reduction
- reliable support champions
Once the shield is down, Fire Knight becomes much easier to control. Without enough multi-hits, however, runs often feel completely unstable.
Many new players also underestimate how important Speed and Turn Meter control are in this Dungeon.
Spider – the most complex Dungeon in RAID
Spider is one of the biggest progression walls for many mid-game players. The reason is that the Dungeon works very differently from most other content in RAID.
Instead of focusing purely on a single boss, you also need to manage the Spiderlings while controlling the main boss itself.
As stages become higher, the following tools become increasingly important:
- AoE damage
- HP Burn
- crowd control
- Turn Meter reduction
- sustain
HP Burn strategies in particular eventually become one of the most efficient ways to clear Spider consistently.
Many beginners simply try to brute-force the Dungeon with more damage, only to get overwhelmed by Spiderlings. That’s why Spider is much more of a mechanics-focused Dungeon than a simple DPS check.
Ice Golem – why too much damage can actually become a problem
At first glance, Ice Golem often seems fairly harmless, but later on, many players quickly understand why this Dungeon is so frustrating.
The reason is the boss passive: Whenever certain HP thresholds are reached, the boss retaliates with extremely heavy damage. As a result, traditional “full damage” teams often become very unstable.
In higher stages, teams usually perform much better when they focus on:
- controlled damage
- defensive builds
- revives
- sustain
- consistent debuffs
Many players lose runs here even though they technically have enough damage – simply because they ignore the boss mechanics.
Why champion roles matter more than specific meta champions
One common mistake many new RAID players make is searching for the “perfect team comp” built around specific meta champions.
In reality, most Dungeons are much more about roles than individual characters.
The more important questions are usually:
- Do you have enough survivability?
- Can you apply Decrease DEF consistently?
- Do you have Turn Meter control?
- Are your debuffs reliable?
- Is your team fast enough?
Especially during the early and mid game, strong team-building is often more important than owning perfect meta champions.
Why Dungeon progression also matters for Lootday
Many RAID offers on Lootday indirectly depend on stable account progression, Dungeons are one of the biggest foundations for that progression.
Better gear, Ascension materials, and stronger champions help you:
- progress through Campaign faster
- build champions more efficiently
- reach higher account levels
- and maintain smoother long-term progression overall
Long-term progress in RAID depends heavily on how effectively you can farm Dungeons consistently. Very often, mechanics, team roles, and properly built champions matter much more than raw DPS or champion rarity alone.
