The developers have finally addressed the recent wave of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leaks.
Rockstar Games has admitted that seeing GTA 6 leaks online has been "heartbreaking" for the team. They added, "This is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time."
The leaks, which began as early as August 18, showcased many aspects of the upcoming title, including combat, driving, specific cutscenes, and the Vice City map.
An individual or group, which operates under the name "Cyberleek", is at the heart of the leaks. It is believed they somehow have access to a playable build of the game, given the detailed clips they have shared online. In one video, they shoot at a wall, deliberately carving out bullet holes that spell out "LEEK".

The official statement comes just one day before Rockstar is scheduled to show fans an official extended look at GTA 6 on Netflix. The developers stated they are still "very excited" for everyone to get a glimpse of the new action-adventure game.
Rockstar Apologizes for the Long Wait for GTA 6
Rockstar acknowledged that fans have been waiting a long time for more information about GTA 6.
"We are very sorry that everything has taken as long as it has — from getting the game finished to sharing more details and official gameplay, and providing the community with everything you want to know", the studio apologized.
The studio also acknowledged that some of the leaks may have spoiled parts of the experience for players who encountered them online.
GTA 6 Is Still on Track for November 19
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from Rockstar's message is that the leaks haven't changed the game's release plans. GTA 6 is still scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, with Rockstar telling fans that the game is nearly there.
Rockstar ended its message on a more personal note, thanking members of the community who had reached out with supportive messages during the past week. The studio emphasized that GTA 6 is ultimately being made for its players and said that their backing means a great deal to the development team.
GTA 6 was first announced on December 5, 2023. It is set to be the sixteenth installment in the long-running franchise, which started with the original entry in 1997. The Standard Edition of GTA 6 costs $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition is priced at $99.99.
