The New Plunderstorm Mode In WoW Gets People Creative

In the gaming community, creativity is often celebrated, but it can also attract hate, especially when unconventional tactics or exploits come into play.

The World of Warcraft community is currently abuzz. The Plunderstorm mode, a chaotic battle-royale variant that has captured the attention of PvP fans, is delivering not just thrilling matches but also plenty of controversy. Two recent events have particularly stood out: a tournament tainted by an exploit victory and a player who triumphed without landing a single kill.

When Cheating Pays Off

The latest Plunderstorm showdown hosted by Blizzard was expected to be an exciting highlight for the community, especially with a $50,000 prize pool at stake. However, the tournament left many disappointed after an exploit played a key role in deciding the winner.

What happened? A team utilized a bug to position themselves on a tower – a zone where the deadly storm dealt no damage. This strategy allowed the players to avoid combat and safely secure a Top 10 finish, which, under the tournament rules, guaranteed their overall victory. Since cheating is considered a grave sin in the gaming community, let’s just hope their chicken dinner was oversalted and undercooked.

The community was quick to criticize. Many players are calling for repercussions against the winners, arguing that exploits should never be rewarded. One Reddit user pointed out that exploiters in WoW have faced temporary bans in the past. So far, Blizzard has not announced any action regarding the incident.

Jolkster’s Impressive Plunderstorm Triumph

While the tournament highlighted the darker side of the Plunderstorm mode, the community is celebrating another player: Jolkster. He pulled off an incredible feat, winning a match without scoring a single kill.

How did he manage that? Speculation suggests the player relied on a pacifist strategy. Instead of engaging in fights, he may have remained stealthy and focused on staying alive as the storm eliminated his competitors. Through careful positioning and impeccable timing, Jolkster outlasted everyone, proving that victory in Plunderstorm doesn’t always require brute force.

His achievement quickly gained recognition, with the post about his win earning approximately 3,000 upvotes and a wave of compliments from the gaming community.

Although the story sounds impressive, we cannot help but notice that Jolkster never explained how he avoided killing anyone. It’s entirely possible that he used the tower bug and simply waited for the last remaining enemy to slip and fall into the zone.

What’s your take on these Plunderstorm stories? Is it acceptable to exploit an existing bug? Share your thoughts in the comments!
