Following persistent player feedback, EA is revising numerous challenges and missions in the game.
Battlefield 6 developers continue to show their commitment to taking community feedback seriously and implementing it accordingly.
One criticism frequently voiced by players concerned the sometimes enormous difficulty of completing challenges and assignments in the game. Many felt that the requirements were excessive and not very rewarding.
Some time ago, the developers responded to feedback by increasing the experience points awarded to make game progress "smoother and more rewarding." Now, another major update is coming: comprehensive adjustments to the challenge and mission system that are intended to significantly improve the gaming experience.
The Reason Behind The Updates
In Battlefield 6, players can complete various assignments and challenges during their matches. While assignments serve to unlock new weapons and equipment, challenges are usually short-term tasks that yield cosmetic rewards or experience points.
Previously, however, many of these tasks were extremely time-consuming and led to frustration among players.
Another point of criticism previously concerned the slow collection of experience points. Some players even exploited glitches to gain advantages, for example by getting just below the map at certain points. There, they could avoid fights without being kicked out of the game, thus winning as the last surviving team.
However, this glitch has since been fixed. Players who now land at this spot fall off the map.
Goal And Measures Of The Update
With the latest community update, which is already live, the time required to unlock weapons, attachments, camouflages, and similar content has been significantly reduced. The focus is now more on skill-based progression, which rewards consistent and fair play.
In total, the developers have made over 90 adjustments. For example, the class challenges for Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon players have been significantly simplified. One example: for the Support class, the challenge "Revive teammates" has been reduced from 200 to just 60 revives.
There have also been significant simplifications to the weapon assignments. For example, the damage required for the "Inflict damage with Assault Rifles" assignment has been reduced from 10,000 to 3,000 points. This should make progress noticeably faster and more motivating.
Further Updates To Follow
The first changes are already available in the game, but the development team emphasizes that this is only the beginning. Due to the large scope of the planned adjustments, further updates are to follow in the coming weeks and months.
Players who had already unlocked many rewards under the old, significantly more difficult conditions before the latest update may be annoyed by the simplifications, as they invested considerably more time. Others, however, will be pleased: those who have already made progress in challenges will find that many tasks are automatically marked as "completed" the next time they start the game.
However, some community members have reported bugs where weapons were not unlocked despite completing challenges. EA has not yet commented on this issue.
As further updates have already been announced and the development team is clearly responding to community feedback, this bug is also likely to be fixed in the near future. In an official statement, EA emphasized:
"We value your ongoing feedback around Challenges and Assignments as we continue to roll out further improvements."
