Being in a relationship with a streamer or content creator is probably something that is far from a normal, quiet relationship: Parasocial viewers, for example, tend to overanalyze every detail about the relationship. But what if the issue is the job itself? In a recent stream, Alinity talked about how her now ex-boyfriend told her he has a problem with her occupation.

Choosing Between Work And Your Partner

In the clip that was shared, it quickly seems like Alinity might be feeling a little overwhelmed. She then reads out a message she is writing concerning a sponsored stream:

"My boyfriend decided this morning that after two years he has a problem with what I do. So we broke up and I am totally having a mental breakdown live on stream, but I'm ready for the sponsor."

Even though she is seen laughing after hitting send, it is very obvious that this situation has impacted her a lot. Losing a partner of two years for something that seemingly never was an issue before sounds devastating. After the clip was shared to Reddit and Twitter, and people from outside of her community learned about the situation and as the comments weren't in her chat for her to read, the opinions started getting harsher.

The Community's Reaction

In the clip, her community showed her a lot of support. Between comments like "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and "His loss, he's gonna regret it," there was very little critical feedback. And shockingly, even on Reddit, most comments that were harsh criticized him instead of her. The top comment on there reads:

"I don't follow her, but if anything, two years ago she was even a bigger streamer/OF girl than now. What did the guy think was going to happen?"

And this take seems to be very widespread: Alinity is not a new, small streamer, and she didn't start making and sharing explicit content just now either. Twitter, despite some positive voices, however, also criticized her:

After her situation went viral, Alinity decided to come out and comment on it further, admitting that maybe she didn't do a great job explaining the situation:

But what do you think? Justified or over the top? Let us know in the comments!
