Ewan McGregor has stated that he would like to return to his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in future installments of the franchise.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most beloved characters in the Star-Wars franchise. There is no one else, who fans could picture playing him, than Ewan McGregor.
In almost all his appearances as the character, he gives it his all, working with all the tools given to him. What's more, is that McGregor really enjoys playing the character, as he emphasized it in lots of different interviews.
The Return Of Obi-Wan Kenobi
In a recent interview with Variety, Ewan McGregor talked about his career and everything he has achieved so far.
As the topic of Star-Wars, and his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi came up, McGregor told Variety:
I really do hope we get a chance to do another one. Between where we ended off in the series and when Alec Guinness comes on screen with Luke Skywalker, I think there's another few stories to tell in there.
In another interview with Hayden Christensen, who plays Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader, Christensen spoke about his colleague and dear friend.
He said:
If it means that I got to do more with Ewan, then that's a no-brainer, but I really hope that he continues with the character. Just as a fan, it's so exciting to get to watch him play Obi-Wan – he's just so good at it.
McGregor already said that he would like to make a second season of Kenobi happen, but he's not sure how.
In any case, I think him and all the fans would get immense joy out of the experience, and I hope that we will see him again as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
