The reveal of Robert Downey Jr. coming back to the MCU, not as Iron Man, but as Doctor Doom, shocked MCU fans across the globe.

It was so unexpected that even co-stars were shocked!

“I Was Like, What The F*ck?”

Don Cheadle, known in the MCU as Colonel James Rhodes or Warmachine, spoke about the insane Doctor Doom reveal in a recent interview with Collider.

I was like, what the f*ck? I think that's exactly what I said.

He was asked to give insider information about Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, to which he replied that he couldn't tease anything if he wanted to, since he doesn't know anything for sure.

Everything is clay right now. They're rewriting, they're reworking, and so I honestly can't even tease anything.

The next Avengers movie will release in 2026 and is directed by the Russo brothers. Robert Downey Jr. reportedly said that he would only agree to the project if they directed it.

The Russo brothers, being seasoned Marvel veterans, have a lot of trust put in them by the studio, since they are allowed to produce the movie with the help of their own company AGBO.

Marvel is paying the Russo brothers $80 million for Doomsday and Secret Wars, with potential bonuses if the box office result exceed $750 million and/or $1 billion.
