Famous British actor Asa Butterfield has joined one of the biggest esports organizations after getting officially signed by Team Liquid.
Famous British actor Asa Butterfield became a part of Team Liquid yesterday. The information came directly from the esports organization’s Twitter and the actor was quite excited about the announcement.

Liquid didn’t exactly mention what role Butterfield will be playing on the team, except that they’ll consider him as a viable substitute for Dota 2 or Smash.
Asa Butterfield has already found quite the success in several blockbusters including Ender’s Game, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, and Hugo. Butterfield also takes the leading role of Otis in the Netflix Original Series Sex Education. It’s no secret that Asa is a big gaming fan and it’s already clear he’s really into Dota 2.

Team Liquid is one of the biggest esports organizations worldwide holding teams in Dota 2, CS:GO, League of Legends, Hearthstone, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, Valorant, Apex Legends, and many more. After the announcement, Asa Butterfield joins as the latest member. What? Someone who knows about sex and gaming? Well, maybe Asa can teach Liquid a few things...
While the actor isn’t hiding his nerdy side on social media he hasn’t given any signs of switching to a pro career in esports. Butterfield seems to be doing quite well on the big screen so we probably won’t see him competing for Liquid anytime soon. On the bright side, we might see the actor stream some games under the new banner of Team Liquid. In any case, it seems like the team’s move to sign Butterfield wasn’t made to make them more competitive in esports.
Up until recently, esports organization stuck to signing famous streamers and players. Lately, there’s a new trend going as esports delves into other areas of entertainment. 100 Thieves signed popular content creator Neekolol while FaZe Clan signed LeBron James’s son, Bronny. Asa Butterfield is the first major film actor to become a part of an esports team. As we’ve already mentioned, there’s still no further info on what Asa’s role will be in Liquid but we’re sure we’ll find out soon.
