What We Do in the Shadows | Possible Release Window
While FX shared the joyful news that yes, season 6 is coming, they remained rather tight-lipped about when it's coming. But if the past is an indicator for the future, chances are that What We Do in the Shadows Season 6 could release in fall 2024.
What makes me so sure, you might ask? Well, FX has been pretty reliable with yearly releases since the very beginning of What We Do in the Shadows. And while the strikes may affect production, they even managed to get new seasons out through the whole pandemic – a feat some other shows couldn't pull off.
Something that isn't speculation, though, is the cast we can look forward to.
What We Do in the Shadows Season 6 | Cast
It doesn't come as a huge surprise that the main cast will all return. Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou und Harvey Guillén will all be back as Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja and Guillermo respectively.
Infamously, there are lots of guest appearances from the biggest names in Hollywood in What We do in the Shadows, so get ready for those! There haven't been any confirmations just yet, but I bet there's something cooking.
Until then, it may help to know that Mark Proksch returns as Colin and Kristen Schaal as The Guide. Remains to be seen in which shape or form Derek, played by Chris Sandiford, returns – I can see him all zombified, though.
What We Do in the Shadows Season 6 | Plot Recap
It's probably going to be a little while until season 6 graces our screens, so here's a quick little recap of how the fifth season ended (or just binge the whole show again, who am I to tell you what to do?).
Guillermo had – quite ironically, considering his Van Helsing ancestry – his dream of becoming a vampire fulfilled just to realize that killing humans and drinking blood kind of sucks. But there's a solution to every problem, and becoming human again is quickly achieved by putting a stake through Derek's heart.
That's what you get for turning Guillermo! But, he doesn't stay dead either and gets revived by necromantic means. Does a zombie count as being alive? That's something season 6 needs to answer, I guess...
