How To Practice Muscle Memory For Valorant?

1-5

Let's take your aim game to the next level!

Keep It Consistent

The most important thing with learning any new skill is to perform it as regularly as possible, and it's no different with Valorant. The more often you play, the better you'll get at it over time, and your body will learn the specific movement patterns needed to shoot those sweet headshots. Don't have time to play every day? We understand, but you don't have to play for several hours a day – just one game of Unrated or even Deathmatch will be good enough. | © Riot Games

Don't Change Your Weapons Too Often

We don't mean playing the same rifles all the time, but still – limit the number of weapons you play with. For example, frequently switching between Vandal and Phantom can confuse your muscle memory and lead to situations where you mess up trying to control recoil. Pick the weapons you want to learn the most, practice them, and leave the others for later. | © Riot Games

Play Different Maps/Game Modes

Quickly clicking on dots or constantly shooting robots in practice mode will help build your muscle memory, but not to the extent you probably want. The idea is that you should be able to adapt your aiming skills to different circumstances, so the best training option will be to use the same weapons frequently in a variety of situations. Here are 5 aim trainers offering different features to help you with your muscle memory training: 5 Best Aim Trainers for Valorant | © The Meta

Focus On Your Weaknesses

If you're killing it with Vandal, and you can't score a single frag during a pistol or eco round, then what's the point of using Vandal during your aim practice sessions? You're already good at it! Don't try to work on the things you already know how to do, focus on the things that are clearly capable of losing you rounds or even entire games. Moreover, by finding out how to frag with other weapons, you also understand their weaknesses and learn how to play around them (e.g., with your movement or economy). | © Riot Games

Watch Pro Players And Try To Replicate Their Actions

Watch streams, tournaments and just see how the pros do it! Sure, you won't always find yourself in their situations, but at least try their peek tactics on specific maps (especially the ones you're having trouble with). With that, in addition to aim and tactical training, you often learn good habits that are already bread and butter for pro players. If you are interested in this type of material, look into our Valorant Videos, especially the “200IQ Pro Play Analysis” series, where we not only show you the big brain plays, but we go in-depth and explain them. | © VCT

Hot take, but honestly, being good at FPS games is 80% muscle memory. You may know how to play specific Agents and execute all the lineups perfectly, but if you can't be consistent about scoring kills, then forget about climbing to the top ranks. It's not that players like ScreaM, TenZ, or Hiko were born with their brilliant aim skills – they learned it by practicing muscle memory. And how do you do that? Let us show you! | © Riot Games
