All Halloween Modes in BOCW: Nuketown Halloween, Infected, Prop Hunt Halloween, & Scream Deathmatch

There are a bunch of new modes coming to Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer as part of "The Haunting" Halloween Event. What are they, and how do they work?

Well, things are getting a little bit scary in Black Ops Cold War. The game is coming to its grand finale, and it looks like that finale is going to be Halloween-themed. Introducing new Halloween Modes into BOCW, "The Haunting" Event comes literally days before Call of Duty: Vanguard comes out. When Vanguard releases, the bells will ring Black Ops Cold War's final death toll.

With BOCW Season 6 actually turning out to be pretty solid, it seems that Treyarch's most disappointing Call of Duty entry is ending in style. "The Haunting" is looking like a whole lot of fun, introducing a bunch of great content to the game mere weeks before it is put out of commission. You could also say the same about Warzone's Verdansk '84 map, but we will have at least a few more weeks before that is replaced with its Vanguard-integrated Pacific Map.

A selection of fantastic bundles are going to be featured in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, but that's not all. In BOCW, we will see a number of changes coming to Zombies, and a bunch of Halloween-themed Game Modes in Multiplayer. Oh, and Nuketown Halloween is hitting us in style. Let's dive in!

New BOCW Map Theme: Nuketown Halloween

Nuketown is getting a Halloween-themed makeover in Black Ops Cold War. You can play any of the limited-time modes we are about to describe there, as well as standard modes, to intensify the Halloween experience in Call of Duty this year. Honestly, it looks super cool, with Activision describing it as follows:

Note the shift from day to night, the pumpkin-faced clock, and the many themed decorations and props littering the grounds… which you might want to familiarize yourself with before diving into the new limited-time modes. Players can also call in some Scare Packages for some frightful rewards!

Wait, rewards? Sign me up! Yes, that's right, the Care Package Score Streak now has a chance to drop as a Scare Package. Or you can just play Outbreak, where you can also find the Scare Packages with a little luck.

The new Halloween version of Nuketown is the latest iteration of this classic Black Ops 1 map, which was introduced to Black Ops Cold War back in December 2020. It's one of the best Call of Duty multiplayer maps ever, and this is a very exciting evolution.

All Halloween Limited Time Modes in BOCW's "The Haunting" Event

BOCW Halloween LTM: Infected

Eighteen Operators enter the map, and the "Zombie Team" is tasked with turning all of the "Survivors Team" into the undead. In other words, to kill them. As more Survivors die, they turn into Zombies and can attack their former teammates. For the Zombies team to win, they must kill all of the Survivors. For the Survivors to win, they must survive until the timer is fully depleted. They are also aided by a number of bonuses, included improvements to ADS speed, movement speed, and slide speed.

BOCW Halloween LTM: Prop Hunt Halloween

This is just Prop Hunt with Halloween-themed items. As Activision described on the Call of Duty blog: "This new themed Prop Hunt will see player-controlled skulls, jack-o’-lanterns, black cats, bats, skeletons". Prop Hunt Halloween is only available to play on the Nuketown Halloween map.

BOCW Halloween LTM: Scream Deathmatch

In Scream Deathmatch, two Operators become Ghostface and they each have to find and eliminate all survivors. The survivors have no weapons, and must find a hiding spot to try and survive the match and "the endgame is like any good horror movie: the killers slash up every Survivor, or a final brave soul rises above to defeat the evildoers". Now, we have to admit, this is the one we're most excited for!
