The Best Warzone 2.0 FTAC Recon Loadout | Meh

We have the best FTAC Recon setup and loadout for Warzone 2.0. The battle rifle is a bit special, but still viable with the right build.

The FTAC Recon belongs to the brand-new class of Battle Rifles in Warzone 2.0. This class basically consists of assault rifles with a bigger caliber and thus more range and recoil. They close the gap between assault rifles and MMRs. Used correctly, these weapons can be extremely powerful, but they are also very situational.

The FTAC Recon is part of the M4 platform and thus has access to many good attachments, however, it is somewhat special in its weapon category. Most battle rifles are strongest when you play them fully automatic and try to reduce the recoil as much as possible. However, the FTAC Recon has a maximum of 15 rounds per magazine, which is extremely low if you want to play the gun fully automatic. In semi-automatic mode, however, the damage is simply too low to compete with an MMR or even a sniper. So what do we do with the FTAC Recon?

Since we don't want to play the FTAC semi-automatically, we build it as a fully automatic weapon. However, due to the high recoil, it can only be used for medium distances, at which it shreds armor plates like paper thanks to the high damage. So we increase range, bullet velocity and recoil control with the barrel and improve the latter even further with the underbarrel and the rear grip.

Of course, we have to use the largest magazine and for the optic we go for the Slimeline Pro, which is absolutely sufficient at medium distances.

With the attachment tuning, we then try to get a little more mobility to boost our ADS speed.

Warzone 2.0 FTAC Recon: Secondary, Perks & Equipment

Secondary: Chimera

Chimera Attachments
We love the Chimera. | © Activision

It's not easy to find the right secondary weapon for the FTAC Recon. After all, we're too slow for close combat, but also kind of too weak when it comes to the really long distances. So we pick an all-rounder for the secondary weapon: the Chimera. The Chimera was introduced with Season 1 Reloaded and is a flex weapon – a hybrid between an assault rifle and an SMG, so it's perfectly suited for fights at shorter distances, but it's also still useful at longer distances.

Perks (Base, Bonus & Ultimate)

Once again our standard choice:

Perk PackageSpectre

Base Perks

Double Time / Tracker

Bonus PerkSpotter
Ultimate Perk

Ghost

And again the same perks as always, but Spectre is just the best perk package in Warzone 2.0. Ghost is indispensable to counter the UAV spam, and therefore we also put up with the other extras. After all, Double Time and Tracker are still quite helpful in some situations. However, nobody really needs Spotter.

Of course, we have to do without Overkill in favor of Ghost, but we can simply buy the second weapon in the loadout at a buy station. However, we recommend starting with the Chimera and buying the FTAC later.

Equipment (Lethal & Tactical)

Our preferred combo:

LethalSemtex
Tactical

Flash Grenade

Flash grenades are currently overpowered. The radius is extremely large and the blinding effect lasts for a very long time, which makes flashes a damn powerful weapon. Semtex is easy to use and always helpful. It works against vehicles and infantry alike – one of the simplest options you can't go wrong with.

That's all there is to the FTAC Recon. If you're looking for something more reliable, try one of the best assault rifles in Warzone 2.0.
