Warzone Season 3 Trailer & Roadmap

The Season 3 trailer is quite action-packed and also gives us a few details:

The Nazis seem to have overdone it a bit with Nova 6.... There are some pretty wild a$$hats running around, what on Earth were they thinking? Oh yeah... they're Nazis... what did we expect? Here's the Roadmap, then we're going to break everything down for you in even more detail...

Warzone Season 3 Reloaded Content

The new fast travel system for Caldera has finally been confirmed! This time we seem to be rattling through the mines under Caldera in old, rickety mine carts. There will be a total of 14 "stations" where we can board the carts, marked with an icon on the minimap. The access points are the hatches that have been available for a while all over Caldera. You can find the exact locations here.

Fast travel systems are nothing new in Warzone, after all we already had the red doors and subway stations in Verdansk. It will be exciting to see what new possibilities will arise from the new fast travel system on Caldera.

New Warzone Weapons

With Season 3 Reloaded, the rest of the weapons that were announced with the Season 3 Roadmap are finally coming into the game. Here are the new guns:

M1916 Marksman Rifle

This bad-boy is coming at launch and, honestly, it's a semi-auto rifle, what else can I say? Apparently it's going to have some decent power and a reasonable fire-rate. Again, sounds like a semi-auto rifle, what more can I say? Here's a quick description to help you out (it's coming out on launch, by the way):

At first glance, the M1916 may not bring down a foe with a single shot. However, its great fire rate and large two-hit elimination range (in Multiplayer) make it an excellent option at all ranges, even if its recoil can be difficult to handle at range.

Nikita AVT Assault Rifle

Coming out at launch, this new Assault Rifle will probably slay... tons of your opponents. Honestly, I hate it when people use the word slay, it makes me cringe harder than Kanye. Its description reads "accurate and reliable", just like me. Well, if I could spray lead at many kilometres an hour, that is. Here's the description:

The Nikita AVT is the fastest-firing Assault Rifle in Vanguard to date, making it a great choice for SMG users who want to transition to a more midrange option.

A fast fire rate means high recoil, so Operators must either learn to control this weapon’s kick or equip it with multiple attachments to tame it. However, given some of the other interesting attachments, it may be worth taking time to learn its recoil pattern to take advantage of some truly unique setups…

Sledgehammer: Melee

This mighty Sledgehammer will surely deal a ton of damage when it drops in the mid-Season. It's super forking ugly and insanely stupid, but hey, that's what Warzone's all about, ain't it? There will apparently be a challenge to unlock it, but you'll also be able to buy it from the store of course. Activision want their money.

H4 Blixen SMG

The H4 Blixen is the third weapon in Season 3 and finally comes into play with Season 3 Reloaded. Here is the description:

Favored by Special Operations Forces, this hard-hitting SMG offers mobility and accuracy in medium range engagements.

Unlock the H4 Blixen by completing its SMG-based challenge – Get 3 Slide Kills in a single match 15 times – or by purchasing a Store Bundleto be released later this season, which features a Weapon Blueprint from this weapon’s family.

New Warzone Perk

Season 3 Reloaded brings the Sepentine Perk, already known from Vanguard, into the game. This perk reduces damage received by 20% when sprinting. We are excited to see if the new perk will be able to break the current cold blooded/combat scout meta.

New Warzone Operators

In Season 3, there will be three new operators who will form a new squad. The names of the operators were announced in the Season's press release. These operators will also grant you an additional 10% XP for their preferred weapon. By the way, we also got Snoop Dogg as a new operator, so that's pretty hype.

The operator's favourite weapons can be a huge help with the weapon grind. For more tips & tricks to grinding, check out our complete guides on the subject. One for Vanguard Multiplayer, another for Vanguard Zombies, and a third for Warzone. Now we'll cover the new operators in a little more detail...

Mateo Hernandez

In typical Call of Duty fashion, this guy has one of the most cringe introductions I have ever heard: "Sniper. Tail gunner. A hero for his community." Okay, then, American Dream impersonator. What have you got? Well, he's coming at the beginning of the season. To both Vanguard and Warzone. Here's his description...

As a first-generation American, Mateo fought in the Pacific as an aerial machine-gun Operator. After serving, he continued to set precedent for his fellow Operators, being a champion for those fighting injustice and protecting the innocent in his home State.

Florence Carter

Florence is an "unparalleled ace pilot". She's a fantastic helicopter pilot and will be joining Warzone right at the beginning of Season 2, along with Vanguard of course. Her description reads as follows:

Born and raised in Alabama, Florence was determined to never give up on her childhood dream and rose to become one of the best rescue helicopter pilots across all S.O.T.F. groups. Her abilities in close-quarters combat are second only to her talent and passion for ruling the skies.

Kim Tae Young

Kim Tae Young wears an honestly stupid mask and we can expect that she'll probably be good at shooting people. This is Call of Duty, after all, and she's also apparently "fearless in close combat". Exciting? Alright, she will be coming with the mid-Season update to both Warzone and Vanguard. Here's her character description:

Nobody knows who is behind the mask of Kim Tae Young. Trained by her mother, this unknown vigilante is known for her fighting spirit much like the fabled Dokkaebi, a mythical creature whose face is sculpted into her facial protection. Fearless in close combat, Kim Tae Young is a local hero who will lend her skills to this new task force later this season.

New Warzone Items

Season 3 Reloaded brings a total of 4 new items to the game:

Gulag Entry TokenThese tokens send you to the Gulag after death, even if you have already completed your first Gulag. Only one such token can be carried at a time.
Redeploy Extraction TokenThis token lets you get right back into the game after death without having to go through the gulag first.
Speed BoostOnce collected you get a speed boost.
Radar JammerThis is a new field upgrade that disables the minimap of enemies in a small radius and prevents them from using killstreaks.

New Warzone Modes

After Operation Monarch, in which we fought Godzilla and King Kong, Season 3 Reloaded brings another new Limited Time mode – Champion of Caldera. This mode can only be played in solos and is contested between a total of 150 players. All operators start with their own loadout, a gas mask and a Redeploy Extraction Token. Kills instantly replenish your health, armor and equipment. The last operator alive wins.

New Warzone Map Changes

New High Value Loot Zones

These zones are already known from Operation Monarch. At the beginning of each match, you'll find zones marked on the minimap where you'll find more and, above all, better loot. But be prepared that there will always be a lot of activity there.

Rebirth Island Updates

On Rebirth Island there are now radar towers that can be used for scanning. During a match there will be a kind of alarm when the towers scan, whoever is not on the ground in time will be marked by the scan for all other players on the map.

There's a new Gulag in Warzone Season 3!

Season 3 will also introduce a new Gulag. Players won't fight each other for another chance in the mines underneath Caldera. Instead, they will beef it out in the "Hold". This new area is based on the belly of a ship, featuring "identical hallways on the perimeter of an otherwise open space."

New Warzone Battlepass

Every season of Warzone brings a new Battle Pass of 100 tiers, each with their own rewards, and this season is no different. As always, there will be some good blueprints and a lot of double XP tokens, so we would recommend it to most players. The Battle Pass costs 1000CP, ($10) or 2400CP if you want to skip the first 20 tiers.

It's also worth mentioning that the Battle Pass gives you back CP as a reward for reaching certain tiers. If you complete the whole thing and reach tier 100 then you earn a total of 1300 CP. So you actually gain 300 CP if you play enough to get to tier 100 each season.

Best Meta Weapons for Season 3

The Meta Long-Range AR: STG44

The STG doesn't throw bricks like the Bren, it's not as fast as the Cooper, or as mobile as an MP-40, but it does everything okay. This makes for a perfect long-range AR. When you just need a single primary for your ghosty loadout, the STG's versatility makes it the perfect choice. Here is our best STG44 loadout.

Note: You might favor the 50 round Gorenko mags to the above build, but try both out and see what you prefer.

The Meta Sniper: SwissK31

It's sad to see the relatively poor Vanguard snipers getting so little use, but the facts are simple: with ADS times of over 500ms, they simply can't compete with the good ol' Swiss. In any sniper duel, ADS will always be king, and right now that makes the Swiss meta by default. Here is the best Swiss K31 loadout.

The Meta Sniper Support: Cooper Carbine

Cooper Sniper Support
The Cooper absolutely slaps, thanks to an RPM that can rival even the MAC-10 | © Activision

Since the Cooper's release, it's established itself as the Sniper Support. The extremely high rate of fire, coupled with great mobility, and surprisingly strong capability over range makes the weapon absolutely dominant at the 15-60 m distance. They will continue to nerf the Cooper, but we're probably looking at a MAC-10 situation whereby it always remains at least viable. We have the best Cooper loadout right here.

When is the Next Season?

Warzone Season 4 will arrive in mid-June. Until then, you have time to grind out the Battle Pass for the new Season 3 weapons.

Smaller balance patches are implemented each week, usually on Wednesdays at 13:00 ET (18:00 GMT, 19:00 CET). But for the full patch notes and our analysis on these changes week-by-week, check out our hub article on the weekly updates.
