Top 10 Most Powerful Killstreaks In CoD History

1-10

These things got you a lot of kills

Oskar Jaume
Call of Duty - July 16th 2022, 10:00 GMT+2
Reaper MW3

10. Reaper (MW3)

The Reaper was a nine kill killstreak in MW3 that allowed the user to control a UAV armed with 14 rockets. Nine kills for the Reaper was nothing, and it basically guaranteed you 10 kills every time you used it. This streak was super fun, and extremely lethal, especially if you consider the low number of kills you needed for this thing. | © Activision

Pave Low MW2

9. Pave Low (MW2)

The Pave Low was basically a flying juggernaut. Taking this thing down was a massive challenge. This thing just flew around, did its thing, and by the end of it, it racked up ten or so kills. Shooting this flying fortress out of the sky was very hard. Most of the time, it killed you before you could lock onto it, and if you managed to hit it with a rocket, good luck hitting the other four or so rockets. The Pave Low was just an absolute beast in the sky. | © Activision

VTOL Warship BO2

8. VTOL Warship (BO2)

From one juggernaut of the sky, to the next. The VTOL Warship was a controllable air fortress equipped with a machine gun and rockets. You needed 1600 points or 16 kills for this baby, and it was worth it. Getting this thing on Hijacked or Raid, basically meant the game was over for the enemy team, as this thing rained destruction on them. | © Activision

BO1 chopper gunner

7. Chopper Gunner (BO1)

We could have chosen any Chopper Gunner from any CoD because this is always one of the most powerful streaks, but we went with the OG Gunner from BO1. It doesn't get more iconic than using the Chopper Gunner on Nuketown in BO1. This streak rained down bullets of death, and it lasted a really long time. On a map like Nuketown or Jungle, this thing was a flying spawn trap. Shooting down the Chopper Gunner is basically impossible, and there really wasn't a lot you could do about it. | © Activision & @402Thunder402

Stealth Chopper Carrier BOII

6. Stealth Chopper (BO2)

You'll find a lot of streaks from BO2 on this list, since the game did have so many incredible ones. Probably could fill a top ten list with BO2 streaks alone. Having said that, we have the Stealth Chopper, which was obtainable for 1100 points or 11 kills. This thing was so effective because the enemies couldn't spot it on the minimap, hence the name Stealth Chopper. This helicopter even had a flair built in, and was able to use 'evasive maneuvers', which made it really hard to shoot down. Another reason this streak was so great, you could just place it down on the opponent's spawn, and it would just wreak havoc on the enemies. | © Activision

RAPS BO3

5. R.A.P.S. (BO3)

You won't find the K9 Unit, or Attack Dogs on this list, but the R.A.P.S. were basically its futuristic counterpart. When BO3 first launched, these things were absolutely mental and OP. They were faster than dogs, did AOE damage, were really hard to hear, since they were so quiet, and had a ton of health. Easily one of the best streaks ever, and once you called these things in, the enemies stood no chance. All you could do, was put on Cold Blooded, and stand as far away from your teammates as possible. | © Activision

AC 130 MW2

4. AC-130 (MW2)

Another iconic streak that has rained death upon many Call of Duty players, it's the AC-130. When you got this thing in MW2, a Nuke was basically guaranteed. Not only did this thing have three different weapons, it was super tanky and circled the map for what felt like an eternity. Apart from being one of the greatest and deadliest killstreaks ever, the sound it made when someone targeted you and the AC-130 shot its flair, is the single greatest sound in CoD history for me. | © Activision & @WhiteBoy7thst

Blackbird

3. Blackbird (BO1)

This killstreak has had a lot of different names over the years, but for only eight kills, none of them compete with the original Blackbird from BO1. The Blackbird was basically a free UAV hack, but better because it showed the direction of the enemies. If two people were running this on the same team, you could just endlessly cycle it over and over. Dying with a Blackbird up should never happen, and is one of the reasons we placed it on the third spot. You couldn't even shoot this thing down. The only counter was a counter UAV, and that's it. Just one of the greatest streaks ever. | © Activision

Harrier MW2

2. Harrier (MW2)

This was the first stepping stone toward every nuke in MW2, and for good reason. For only seven kills, you got an airstrike and a hovering jet. This thing easily wracked up five or so kills, and usually got you toward the AC-130 or Chopper Gunner, and from there on out, it was a free nuke. Aside from the nuke, this is definitely the most iconic killstreak from MW2, and it was an absolute fan favorite. You just couldn't go wrong with this streak. | © Activision

Hunter Killer Drone model BOII

1. Swarm (BO2)

The most powerful killstreak in Call of Duty history, has to be the Swarm. The Hunter-Killer Drone, was basically a guaranteed free kill, now imagine having hundreds of them flying around. This streak was so powerful, it was a challenge not to kill yourself with it. When the announcer said: "Enemy Swarm Above", everyone on the other side rage-quit the game because nothing could stop this killstreak. No wonder you needed a whopping 1900 points or 19 kills for this, but it was definitely well worth it. | © Activision

1-10

Everyone loves killstreaks. They are a huge part in Call of Duty and over the years we had a lot of great ones, and of course, some not so great ones – talking to you Sat Com. But the weak ones aside, great killstreaks could turn the tide of a game, and make your opponents beg for mercy, and those are the killstreaks we want to focus on. We went back and looked at every killstreak in CoD history and ranked the ten most powerful ones.

Disclaimer: We didn't include the nuke from MW2, for obvious reason, and we excluded the specialist bonus, since it technically wasn't really a killstreak.
