Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded will start tonight and bring a lot of new content, but also some cool new features and fixes. Besides a new weapon and a new multiplayer map, there will also be some returning game modes for Modern Warfare 2 and obviously some weapon balancing. However, that's not all, there will also be some quality-of-life improvements and one of them in particular sparked our interest.

Flash grenades have been incredibly strong in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 since launch and while they aren't getting a direct nerf with Season 2 Reloaded, there will be a nice new feature:

How To Invert Flash Grenades

The Season 2 reloaded update will introduce a new option to invert flash grenades in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. As we all know, the flash of a flash bang in Warzone 2 or MW2 is extremely bright and lasts incredibly long, not only in game but also in real life. I mean, my screen gets so bright that it actually takes my eyes quite some time after a flash grenade to adjust to the normal brightness again. So you could say you get flashed in real life as well.

Luckily, there will be a new option in the game's settings to invert the flash effect. This means that flash grenades will no longer turn your screen bright white, but instead replace that blinding light with a low-light black effect:

To activate this setting, just follow these simple steps:

  • Head to the main menu
  • Select the options menu
  • Click on "Settings"
  • Go to "Interface"
  • Activate the "Inverted Flash" setting

While this setting isn't changing anything about how flash grenades work in game, it still is a nice quality-of-life improvement. We are living in the age of dark mode, so a dark mode for flash grenades is more than welcome. All in all, this change makes playing MW2 and Warzone 2 a little easier on the eyes, without changing anything gameplay wise.

What do you think about the inverted flash grenades? Will you use the new feature or just keep the bright white screen for more immersion? If you don't own Modern Warfare 2 yet, you can test it for free in the upcoming days and then decide if you want to buy it .
