Finally, the old DCU has finished with its last movie and already the new universe has revealed the first character to appear in it.
The new DCU is on its way to the big screen and the first character to get his own movie has been revealed. It is none other than the Blue Beetle. Now some of you might never have heard of him, so let me give you a quick explanation on who our new hero is.

Let's start with an explanation on how the Blue Beetle works. The powers of this hero come from the Blue Beetle Scarab, an artifact that was found in an old Egyptian tomb. It is actually alien technology and houses an AI. So all the cool powers you see on screen come from it.
The new character of the DCU is Jaime Reyes otherwise known as Blue Beetle. He is a totally normal Mexican-American living in El Paso until he gets the scarab. With it, he can form a suit with various powers.
So essentially we got a young adult finding an alien relic and by bonding with it, Jaime becomes a superhero.

In his various appearances in comics, shows and games Blue Beetle is often a member of the Justice League International or the Teen Titans.
