Saudi Arabia Transfer: Cristiano Ronaldo With A Heavy Downgrade In FIFA 23?

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is making headlines almost daily at the moment. Now it's official: CR7 has signed with Al-Nassr FC. But how will this affect his FIFA 23 ranking?

Cristiano Ronaldo has indeed signed with Saudi Arabian first division club Al-Nassr. This means a stark sporting relegation for the Portuguese, but will we notice anything of this in FIFA 23? While Lionel Messi wins the World Cup with Argentina, CR7 decides to take this financial step.

FIFA 23: Downgrade For Ronaldo?

In the controversial interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo jokingly said that he would retire if Portugal would win the World Cup in Qatar this year. That would also have a great influence on the Path to Glory cards of Bernardo Silva and Palhinha, by the way.

In the meantime, Ronaldo has terminated his contract with Manchester United and Al-Nassr from Saudi Arabia has made an offer that he probably couldn't refuse. There is talk of €200 million per season, over two and a half years - a total of €500 million.... These sums make one feel quite bad. There are also rumors that Ronaldo will move back to the Premier League if Newcastle United reaches the Champions League.

It is unclear when Crisch will receive his new FUT card. To be honest, we don't hope that day will come either, the footballer's heart aches. Until then, you can still play with Ronaldo's Flashback SBC.

Will we see his next card here soon?

Cristiano Ronaldo As Ones to Watch

The best deals of a transfer window are rewarded with a so-called Ones to Watch card in FIFA for a couple of years now. These will then improve throughout the whole FIFA year, depending on the performances of the player. But will CR7 also get such a card?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Although EA Sports started off releasing the OTW cards in summer and in winter, they now have stopped the winter version. This means, we won't get to see such a special card for Ronaldo in FIFA 23...

This Will Be Ronaldo's FIFA 23 Rating If He Joins Al Nassr

You can calm down for the time being. The last time EA Sports released up- and downgrades in winter, was a few years ago, so Ronaldo won't be downgraded – at least not his rating. Furthermore, there is now a chance that Ronaldo will get a TOTS card. And that card will be insanely good, regardless of the league, as long as he plays and scores.

One thing's for sure though, the Saudi Arabia links aren't really that good except for Saeed Al-Owairan, who is probably one of the best World Cup Heroes in the game. That means his price will come crashing down, because you simply can't include him in your squad. He still has his Manchester United card, though. This one won't be in the FUT packs, but there should be enough cards, so you can simply go ahead and buy one on the transfer market. So, this is how Ronaldo's card would look like if he decided to join Al Nassr:

Cristiano Ronaldo in EA Sports FC 24

Now the only question is how huge the downgrade will be for FIFA 24, sorry, I meant EA Sports FC 24. His season so far - as sorry as we are - has been a shame. Rationally speaking, after this transfer and the performances so far, CR7 should perhaps still get an 86 OVR, if in doubt, even less. An era is coming to an end...
