EA Sports is in the middle of the development of the "new" FIFA 24, EA Sports FC. According to leaks, possible new Icons for EA Sports FC are being scrutinized in the current testing phase. We have seen some names that will make the heart of every football fan beat faster.

Icons are the best special cards in FIFA. But, well... this is not the truth. Actually, it is very rare to pack a meta Icon that will make the difference in your squad for many weeks or months. EA will certainly include new Icons in EAFC – and we hope for more outstanding stats on those cards. The well-known leaker FUTSheriff has shared a list of possible candidates via Twitter.

FIFA 24 Icons: New Legends For EA Sports FC

The list shared by FUTSheriff is about players who could be considered as Icon or Hero. In this article, we will only focus on the Icons, you can check out the potential new Heroes for EA Sports FC here.

FUT Sheriff has stressed that it is not yet clear if these players will be included in EA Sports FC, let alone if the mentioned players will get an Icon or Hero card. Those selected players are currently being tested by EA.

Every year, there are heated discussions about which player should be an Icon or a Hero. Icons are usually better than Heroes, their careers were a notch more successful. But to get into EA Sports FC as a Hero is of course already a great honor – especially as Heroes are the better special cards in FIFA 23 due to their chem boosts.

EA Sports FC: Leaks Show Potential Icons

Some players from FUT Sheriff's list have also been mentioned by FIFAUTeam: Arjen Robben, Zico and Bobby Charlton. Zico and Charlton are supposed to be Icons, Robben has not been confirmed yet. But we strongly assume that Robben will get an Icon card, after all, he was the reason that Bayern Munich won the Champions League in the season of 2012/2013.

Here is the full list leaked by Sheriff. We add our assessment of whether the player should get an Icon or Hero card.

Not every player on this list will find his way into EA Sports FC Ultimate Team. EA must first acquire the licenses of the respective players, a process that sometimes takes several years.

And sometimes, like with Zico or Diego Maradona, EA also loses some Icons from their former games. Just sad that EA had to remove Maradona from the game. Zico is said to make a comeback, so in EA Sports FC, you will probably be able to play with the Brazilian midfielder again.

New Icons In EAFC: Zico, Bobby Charlton And More

Vincent Kompany could get a really cool Icon card, everyone remembers that screamer against Leicester City in 2019 to win the championship. The Belgian is currently coaching Burnley FC, with nothing standing in the way of a promotion to the Premier League.

Of course, we would also love to see Sergio Aguero and Franck Ribéry as Icons. Both ended their great careers not too long ago. Ribéry must then also get 5 Stars Skills. Aguero is one of the most successful goalscorers in the Premier League, his card could (and should) be really expensive.
