Which teams performed good or bad during the 2021/22 season? And how does that affect the respective squad ratings in FIFA 23? Here you can see our prediction for FC Bayern Munich.
The 2021/22 season has seen a lot of changes in world football. While some teams have been able to build on their performances from previous years, others have failed to live up to their own expectations.
This was not only reflected by the number of Special Cards received in FIFA 22, but also affects the ratings of the individual clubs in FIFA 23. Who will be the best team in the world in the upcoming game? Who has the strongest midfield? We – here at EarlyGame – predict the player ratings of some of the biggest European football clubs. We've also covered the top 100 players in FIFA 23, but that's another story.
Today it's all about: FC Bayern Munich!
FC Bayern Munich In FIFA 23
FC Bayern Munich has been one of the biggest and most successful European clubs for a few years now. In 2020, they won the Champions League under Hansi Flick and, strangely enough, were hardly upgraded for FIFA 21. This year, there will be a lot of changes in the squad again. Here are our predictions...
Transfers – OTWs
After holding back on the player market and saving some money in the past "Corona years", Bayern were able to present three new arrivals even before the transfer window officially started. Noussair Mazraoui, Ryan Gravenberch and Sadio Mané will strengthen the German record champion in the 2022/23 season.
On the other hand, Niklas Süle, Corentin Tolisso and Marc Roca have already parted ways with the club – others like Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry could follow them. It's quite possible that some of these transfers will get a Ones to Watch Special Card in FIFA 23.
- Sadio Mané (CF/RW) | FIFA 23 Rating: 89 OVR
- Matthijs de Ligt (CB) | FIFA 23 Rating: 84 OVR

It was not an outstanding year for Bayern. Although they won the Bundesliga for the tenth time in a row, they were knocked out too early in the DFB-Pokal and the Champions League. That's why there are probably only a few major upgrades in FIFA 23 as well as some deserving downgrades.
Marcel Sabitzer in particular was unable to meet expectations in his first year at Bayern and has definitely earned a downgrade. Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka were also out of form for a very long time – for the most part due to injury or Covid-19. Leroy Sané would have deserved an upgrade for the first half of the season, but his second half was simply horrendous. Overall, his rating most likely won't change.
Leroy Sane In FIFA 23
Leroy Sané's season was a real roller coaster ride. In the first half of the season, he was on a steep upward trajectory, and his performances in the Bundesliga and Champions League would have earned him a decent upgrade. In the second half of the season, however, came the crash... only one goal contribution since February and heaps of bad performances. Therefore, his rating will probably remain the same.
Sadio Mane In FIFA 23
Sadio Mané is FC Bayern's top transfer so far. He is not only one of the best offensive players in the world, but also one of the strongest cards in FIFA 22 with an overall rating of 89. However, we can well imagine EA Sports giving him a small downgrade. Why? Because the Premier League is simply the holy grail and the Bundesliga is one step below. It's definitely not because of his performances the last few months...
Matthijs de Ligt In FIFA 23
With the Süle departure, there were a few long faces in defense. Now, they are smiling again. Matthijs de Ligt was bought from Juventus Turin and will replace him. Why does he get a downgrade to 84 from us? He just didn't perform consistently enough in Italy. But don't forget: the guy is 22 years old and can still get an upgrade – but we think he has to prove himself in Munich first.
What Bayern Munich Could Look Like In FIFA 23
Julian Nagelsmann is a coach who likes to try out a few crazy things here and there. Just take a look at the 2021/22 season – 3 at the back... sometimes it worked, sometimes it just didn't. Therefore, Bayern will most likely play with three central defenders at some point this year, after the de Ligt transfer there are new possibilities.
So, again their meta-formation will probably be the classic 4-2-3-1. And that's always a very solid formation, even in Ultimate Team.
Will Bayern Munich Be In FIFA 23?
Yes, FC Bayern Munich will be part of FIFA 23. Unlike with Piemonte Calcio (Juventus Turin), we probably won't have to do without this club. The partnership between the German record champion and Konami has just been extended, but this should not have any effects on FIFA. Only the Allianz Arena will probably remain eFootball-exclusive again.
And that's it. Our rating prediction for FC Bayern Munich in FIFA 23. How do you rate the club's transfer period so far? Did some new meta-players join them? Are there any new possibilities while building your Ultimate Team? We are really hyped about FIFA 23 and all the new features which have been leaked so far!
