Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 is currently in full swing and most players seem to be having fun on the new island. However, with the last update, as it usually happens, a few bugs came into play that are incredibly annoying. One of those issues is a glitch that not only prevents players from being able to sprint, but also prevents the red dots from appearing when aiming down. Luckily, we have a few tips for you to help you get rid of the bug.

What is the sprint bug in Fortnite?

As you can probably imagine, you can spot the sprint bug when you suddenly can't, well, sprint anymore. This means that the player moves at normal speed even when using the sprint button. This affects both PC and console gamers.

If you're having trouble, don't panic. You are not alone as this bug seems to affect a lot of players. Some players have reported it occurring when sliding immediately after gliding. Other players have noticed that the error appears randomly and without any reason.

The bug also seems to affect the red dots when aiming weapons and can cause lag as well. Epic Games hasn't released an official fix yet, but there are a few things you can do to fix Fortnite's sprint bug.

How to fix the sprint bug in Fortnite

You can fix the sprint bug in Fortnite by checking your files in the Epic Launcher on PC, making sure your assigned sprint button hasn't been unassigned, and restarting Fortnite.

Another option in-game is to use a different input to activate running, such as B. Jumping, gliding or sliding, as some players have found that sprinting works again afterwards.

You can also try jumping with the shockwave hammer. If you're playing in a team, you can also down yourself by getting fall damage, throwing grenades at yourself (or just standing motionless in front of an enemy player). If one of your mates picks you up again, the bug should also go away. However, restarting Fortnite is the safest method.

We assume that Epic is already working on the bug and hopefully it will then be removed from the game with the next major patch.
