Fortnite Prime Shotgun Stats & How To Get

Tired of the same three shotguns currently available in Fortnite? Well, Epic Games has something new in store for you: the Prime Shotgun.

Introduced with the 21.30 Fortnite update, the Prime Shotgun is a brand-new weapon, becoming the fourth of its kind currently available during Chapter 3 Season 3 alongside the Two-Shot, the Auto Shotgun, and the Striker Pump.

The big gimmick behind this new weapon is that it does 50% more damage while firing the first shot. In total, it has four shells in the magazine and works like an automatic shotgun. As a result, it doesn't come with the First Shot Accuracy buff many hitscan guns boast.

You can control its nine bullets spread in two ways: crouching or aiming while firing. This will allow making the most out of the Prime Shotgun, however, you'll lose mobility during hectic teamfights.

How To Get The Prime Shotgun

Similar to other new weapons, if you're jumping into the battle royale, the only way to get your hands on this shiny new toy is by looting the island. Regular and rare chests, supply drops, sharks, the shotgun, saplings, the Prime Shotgun can spawn virtually anywhere.

With how average the Two-Shot feels and how high-risk high-reward the Pump can be with its slow rate of fire, it seems the Prime Shotgun can be a direct competitor to the Auto for becoming the best close-combat weapon in the game.

We'll see how the meta develops at casual play since Epic Games announced the Prime Shotgun won't be available during competitive playlists to avoid potential controversies due to the low time players would have to practice with it.
