Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 is in full swing, but there is still work to be done before the season ends. Besides the weekly challenges, there are also the Resistance Missions that reward you with delicious XP. In week 8, you must use a Sensor Backpack to find an energy fluctuation around Loot Lake. And we'll show you how it's done.
Use The Sensor Backpack To Find An Energy Fluctuation Around Loot Lake
This challenge is the 3rd phase of a three-part quest line and will only be unlocked after you have completed all other phases of the challenge. First, you need to find and equip a Sensor Backpack. You then need to interact with the energy surge at Loot Lake. Here's the step-by-step:
Sensor Backpack Locations
The sensor backpacks are small yellow devices that you must interact with in order to equip them on your back. There are two of them on the map. The first is south of Tilted Towers and northwest of Rocky Reels. Just follow the main road into Tilted Towers until you get to the big bend. There, on the left under a tree, you will find the sensor backpack.
The second Sensor Backpack is located west of Tilted Towers. Follow the main road out of town to the first junction. The sensor backpack is also there under the trees. You can find the exact locations on the map beneath:
Interact with the backpack to equip it.
Find an Energy Fluctuation around Loot Lake
Now, to complete the Fortnite quest, all you have to do is head to Loot Lake and look for a fluctuation to scan. The fluctuations look like gold-orange auras. You can find them in three different places:
- Northeast of The Fortress.
- On the shore, northwest of Tilted Towers.
- West of Dispatch Depot.
Here you can see the exact locations on the map:
The sounds of the backpack will get louder as you get closer to the fluctuation. Once you find it, scan it by interacting to complete the quest.
And that's it. Now you get 23k XP for your Battle Pass. You can find more guides to the missions in our Challenges section.
