The error "VAC unable to verify game" is just one of many notorious messages, that fans of the Counter-Strike franchise can encounter during their playtime. We're guessing a large part of the player base has encountered this error at least once before.

This isn't the only error code you can encounter in a game like Counter Strike, but thankfully this is one of the easier ones to fix. As long as you haven't cheated in Counterstrike: Global Offensive, there are three solutions for this error. One is solving the problem through Steam, another has to do with your drivers, and the third is a very easy one. Read all about the 3 options here.

"VAC unable to verify game"- How To Resolve The Error

Possibility 1 - Fixing Via Steam in 3 easy steps

Step I: To fix the error via steam, you have to log on to Steam and go into your game-library. Here you have to use right-click on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Now there should be a dropdown menu, in which you click on "properties". Now a window opens.

Step II: Click on the field "Local Files". On the right side will be the button "verify integrity of game files...". Now the game will verify all the files and re-download the files that might be missing.

Step III: After this, restart Steam and launch Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in your steam library.

Possibility 2 - Updating The Drivers

Not being able to verify the game is a common problem and most of the time missing game files are the reason behind it. However, sometimes faulty drivers are a problem. So remember to always update the drivers on your Computer, that's always a good idea in general. This possible solution can take some minutes, but we guess you will do anything to go back on Dust II to pop some heads.

Possibility 3 - Reinstalling CS:GO

We know, you will hate us for this proposition. But most of the time, reinstalling a program or game is the easiest solution for problems. Reinstalling Counterstrike often helps, by getting rid of unwanted or corrupted files, that may cause the VAC error.

Make sure to restart Steam and log in again, before starting the game.
