Will GTA 6 Be Set in Europe?

GTA 6 has had many rumored settings, but there is one that would stand out the most: Europe.

So, all the rumors regarding GTA 6 are focused around a setting in the United States: We've had Florida (Vice City), California (Los Santos), as well as theories suggesting Detroit and Chicago. I think it's time we consider a different setting altogether: Europe.

Could GTA 6 Be Set in Europe?

To be fair, it's very unlikely, but not entirely out of the question. After all, GTA did start out in London in the 90s, and the European market is not only financially strong, but also boasts a massive GTA fan base. Also, we've been all over America at this point, so Europe would be a nice change of pace.

Watch Dogs Legion was the last major open-world game to be set in Europe (well, unless you count Assassins's Creed Valhalla), and that game wasn't exactly balls-to-the-walls amazing. With Rockstar's attention to detail, a European setting would really come to life in open-world gaming for the first time ever. What could we expect? Certainly, the game would feature a lot of transit, a whole different architecture, and... maybe more docile police?

Either that, or we could visit Russia, which would certainly be quite controversial (and conflicts with statements that GTA 6 will be more tame), or a good old German wall story, set around the East and the West, or... maybe a story that involves the whole refugee saga of recent years... or wars of the past decades? The possibilities are endless.

There's been plenty of rumors that GTA 6 will involve international travel, so, for all we know, the game could span across Europe and America. Also, seeing as there's a persistent rumor GTA 6 will be a live-service game, we might just see an evolving map that features several cities: We could in Berlin for one part of the year, in London for another, and then move on to Amsterdam, or places outside of Europe altogether. Of course, this would be hard to accomplish in terms of storytelling, but if anyone can do it, it's Rockstar.

We'd definitely be excited about the idea of a European setting, and it would be a nice breath of fresh air, as is the female protagonist that seems to be one of the few things already confirmed about GTA 6.
