In Honkai Star Rail, we have many amazingly fun and unique character to choose from, with each of them having their own set of strengths and weaknesses. It is important to build units which you find enjoyable to play and are strong at the same time in order to clear the game's hardest content. However, there are definitely some must haves, who will make your journey much easier.
Anyone who plays Honkai Star Rail regularly knows that there are some characters who can be true lifesavers at times, mostly because they are simply strong as hell! If we are looking at the available 5-Stars, there are three that come to mind, when thinking of a straight-up broken unit.
But who are these big three, and what makes them so outstandingly strong?

Generally speaking, each of the following characters is particularly strong because they have a certain ability, which no other unit has, making them super unique and valuable.
To keep it at least a little tidy around here, we're going to look at them in the order of the unit's release dates, which leads us right to …
1. Silver Wolf
Silver Wolf is part of the Stellaron Hunters and next to that, an amazing hacker. In a pretty short amount of time she has mastered the skill known as “aether editing” which can be used to tamper with the data of reality. Hence, she always views the universe as a massive immersive simulation game and is eager to clear the stages awaiting ahead.
As soon as Silver Wolf's abilities became public, the entire community knew that she would be an extraordinarily strong character, and oh boy … we had no idea what hit us when her banner finally went live!
Silver Wolf's Strength
Anyone who knows even the slightest bit about Honkai Star Rail will probably already know why Silver Wolf has found her place on this list. The main part of his hacker's strength comes from her skill “Allow Changes?”. Of course, her entire kit is pretty strong by itself, but we focus on what makes her truly unique!
“I wish this universe had a few more things to do. Don't you get bored running across the map every day?” — Silver Wolf
Said ability allows Silver Wolf to get into the genetic pool of a target enemy and adjust their weaknesses. This makes her the only character, which can add different types of weaknesses to an enemy, than the ones that they will have on spawn. That skill also makes Silver Wolf the only reason why it is possible to play mono element team without any issues!

2. Fu Xuan
Fu Xuan is the confident yet pretty blunt Master Diviner of the Xianzhou Luofu's Divination Commission and one of the Six Charioteers. She calculates the Xianzhou Luofu's route and foretells the outcome of future events, as she feels that what she does is the wisest course of action.
Fu Xuan's Strength
To make it short: Fu Xuan is basically immoral, and the even better part, she makes your team kind of immortal as well! Well … that may be a little exaggerated, however, her tanking capabilities are just out of this universe!
“When it comes to seeing everything, I've still got a long road ahead of me …” — Fu Xuan
Her particular strength lies in the fact that she can transfer 65% of the damage your team would take to herself! This makes it nearly impossible to lose one of your characters during a single attack. When Fu Xuan has tanked enough for your team, she can heal herself almost completely in no time with the help of her passive! With all of that sheer endless sustain, you can even try to clear certain stages of the MoC without using a healer at all!
Last but not least …
3. Ruan Mei
Ruan Mei is a sweet-tempered and elegant scholar and, as I already mentioned, the 81. Member of the Genius Society. Next to Madam Herta, Screwllum and Stephen, Ruan Mei was one of the four founders of the Simulated Universe, however her main field of research lies much more in biology and understanding the origin of life!
Ruan Mei's Strength
Ruan Mei's strength comes mainly from her ability to manipulate Weakness Break. This is also a one of a kind perk no other character has, other than her, and it made her the most OP unit in the entire game!

To put it briefly: Ruan Mei uses her skill to buff her entire team, which lasts for three turns and increases their weakness break damage. In addition, she can make opponents who have already lost their shield and are therefore stunned stay in this state for longer, preventing them from attacking you! Her kit, as of right now, is completely overpowered, and many players are trying to get her as long as her banner is still available!
