The Resident Evil 4 remake was very well-received, and currently has a whopping 93/100 on Metacritic. But why is it so good? We'll defer to the words of veteran games' journalist Faris Delalic:

The vision of the original is kept alive with a lot of love and adoration, and modernized in an expanded and stronger way.

...which is exactly what we all want from a remake, right? But now let's get to the facts of the matter: the sales figures. How well did the Resident Evil 4 remake actually sell?

Resident Evil 4 Remake Sells 3,000,000 In Two Days

On March 29, 2023, Capcom revealed that they had sold over 3 million copies of the Resident Evil 4 remake in just two days. Per the announcement:

Resident Evil 4 for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S and PC has sold over 3 million units worldwide. Cumulative shipments of the games in the series now exceed 135 million units since the first title debuted in 1996.

With over 3 million units sold, Resident Evil 4 is already ranking quite well on Capcom's best-selling games of all time. The remake has already outsold Devil May Cry, Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising 2 & Dead Rising 3. Let's see if it can go any higher.

Will you be playing the Resident Evil 4 Remake this weekend? Or are you still glued to this year's Game of the Year?

Thank god the RE4 remake didn't turn out like this...
