Insomniac's popular Spider-Man game is getting a sequel, and multiple leaks point towards a release window at the end of the year.
Spider-Man 2 is going to be massive. Not just because there are millions of Spider-Man fans out there, but also because of the great work that Insomniac did with the first game. And, of course, anyone who picks up a PS5 this Christmas will be looking for games that push the console to it's the technical limitations.
But when can we actually play the new Spider-Man? Well, thanks to some slip-ups, we now know when the game is set to come out.
Spider-Man 2 Release Window Accidentally Confirmed
A very short new trailer for Spider-Man 2 has appeared online after it aired on Australian ESPN, for some reason. This trailer is live-action and shows Peter Parker and Miles Morales swinging around a corner to chase after criminals.
Not too exciting, but there is one interesting bit in here. At the bottom of the trailer, it says "Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Coming Spring 2023". Now, isn't that exciting? Before you get too woozy, let me remind you that this aired in Australia, so Spring over there means Fall in North America and Europe.
Writer Revealed Fall 2023 Window Before
We heard about the Fall 2023 release window before. A writer working with Insomniac, Jamie Mayer, wrote on her personal website that Spider-Man 2 will be released in the fall of 2023. She probably thought that only potential employers would be looking through her website, but clearly she underestimated the obsessiveness of superhero and video game fans.
And there you have it, a sweet little update on the upcoming Spider-Man 2. If you haven't played the first game, we highly recommend it, you can pick a copy of Spider-Man here.
Until you can get your hands on Spider-Man 2, why not check out one of these puppies this Christmas:
