Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Xbox Game Pass or EA Play would be a dream for fans, as getting one of the most-anticipated titles of 2023 as part of the subscription services would make it easily playable for everyone. But will we get that on launch?
Xbox Game Pass is the most popular video game subscription service on the market. Its subscribers have access to hundreds of games that they can play at any time, on either their PC or Xbox, for a monthly fee. EA Play offers the same service, but exclusively for the publishers catalog.
While Game Pass and EA Play users have a plethora of games at their disposal, whenever a hotly-anticipated title is close to releasing, they want to know if they will have access to it at launch, or ever. This trend has continued with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which is launching on April 28 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Below, you can see if the new entry in the Star Wars saga will be coming to Game Pass or not.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor On Xbox Game Pass Or EA Play: Availability check
Unfortunately, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will not be on Game Pass at launch. Nothing has been said by either EA or Microsoft so far, meaning that we won't get to enjoy the game on Xbox Game Pass or EA Play at launch. BUT: there's a twist.
You will be able to play the game via EA Play Pro. If you don't know what that is: EA Play Pro is the premium tier of the publisher's subscription service, which costs $14,99/month. EA has confirmed that the deluxe edition of Jedi: Survivor will be available for all subscribers of that tier on launch.
So, you could just subscribe to EA Play Pro and if you manage to finish Jedi: Survivor within one month, you'll have played the game for just under 15 dollars! Sounds well worth it, in our opinion.
The situation around launch does not completely rule out the possibility of Jedi: Survivor coming to Game Pass in the future, though. Given how popular the Star Wars franchise is and that the game is coming to Xbox at launch, we would expect Jedi: Survivor to launch on Game Pass sometime after its initial release date.
Furthermore, the first game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has also made its way to the Xbox Game Pass after a while, we're pretty confident that the same will happen with the sequel.
Of course, there is no timetable for this possibility as yet. We also can't speculate on what Game Pass subscription players will need if Star Wars Jedi: Survivor does arrive for the service. Players might need the more expensive subscription, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, to access the new Star Wars game.
