After you witnessed the events from the "Higher Price to Pay" quest in Starfield, you'll learn of a cryptic message regarding the Starborn. And somehow, Matteo from The Lodge seems to have more information about this one...

This is how you move on after you talked with Matteo:

  • Go to the Sanctum Universum building in MAST District
  • Keeper Aquilius tells you a legend of a Pilgrim, who spoke to the leaders of the three religious groups in the galaxy
  • Talk to Singh in The Well inside the House of the Enlightened
  • Talk with Mir'za, a follower of the Great Serpent inside the SysDef compound
  • Return to Aquilus and learn that each part of the legend points to the coordinates of the Pilgrim settlement

Now you must make your way to the Indum II planet in the Indum system. There you'll encounter the settlement "Pilgrim's Rest", where you'll find a small puzzle you need to solve. The clues you need are inside some scattered books on the ground. But here are the right answers for each question:

  • What is the burden of people? People are necessary, but people are madness.
  • Who is your most formidable opponent? Myself.
  • Where does enduring contentment come from? In stopping, embracing compassion.

Now with everything set, you'll find the Pilgrim's Final Writing document and your next destination is set!

The document in the settlement leads you to your next destination within the Hyla system, Hyla II.

Once you entered the planet, you'll notice a structure in the distance, approach it and get rid of the mantis creature roaming around, if necessary. Go to the vertical beam, step onto the circular platform in front of it, and you'll see a pattern with four glyphs right in front of you.

With the Pilgrim's clue: "The scorpion's sting hides the truth" in mind, you need to point the beam to the tip of the scorpion's tail! Interact with the left glyph three times and the bottom glyph once, and you'll be able to solve the puzzle in the Ancient Ruins. Easy!

With this puzzle solved and the Moon Base Key in your inventory, the next destination is set: Oborum III in the Oborum Prime system. But that's all you need for the puzzle in the Ancient Ruins!
