The Elder Scrolls was born in the distant 1990s and has been developed by American studio Bethesda since its inception. The series has been a massive success, and we can assume you've all played the legendary title The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, released in 2011. Skyrim is currently listed as one of the best-selling games ever. No wonder its sequel is so strongly expected by RPG fans. Are you part of this group? If so, read on!

The Elder Scrolls VI - What Do We Know About The Game?

Nothing! No, no, that's kind of a joke. Despite the mystery of the producers, we know something there. In addition to a very "informative" teaser, there is speculation that the production is to offer similar freedom in character creation and in taking a story path as the classic installments of The Elder Scrolls. At the same time, however, it will be a testing ground, allowing to try out a completely rebuilt version of Bethesda's proprietary Creation Engine, which is also expected to power the sequel to Skyrim and Oblivion, while offering full support for mods and advanced AI.

What Is The Elder Scrolls VI Release Date?

Information and rumors about the sixth game in The Elder Scrolls series is very sparse, despite the fact that we first heard about it back in 2016. Since the official announcement, there has been radio silence, and the developers have avoided answering any specific questions about the Skyrim successor.

Todd Howard, one of Bethesda Game Studios' key producers, has made it clear that the developer will not focus on the game until after the release of Starfield, which was set for November 11, 2022, but has been pushed back to September 6, 2023.... How much longer can we wait!

The release date for The Elder Scrolls VI thus remains a complete unknown. To make matters worse, it appears that the game may be released some years after the Starfield release. If Todd Howard himself is to be believed, he has made it clear that work on it is still at the pre-production stage. This means that the developers are only preparing preliminary designs of locations, sketches and conceptual graphics, chips of gameplay systems, as well as an outline of the plot. In the interview, Howard himself assures us fans that he really doesn't want it to take this long, but unfortunately it does.

What Platforms Will The Elder Scrolls VI Be Released On?

As we already know, in the fall of 2020, Microsoft announced the buyout of ZeniMax Media, which owned Bethesda, as well as the rights to all its gaming brands. Microsoft thus became the owner of the rights to series such as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.

Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda has significantly reduced the chance that TES VI will be released on PlayStation consoles. However, the company's management guarantees that the production will hit Xbox Series X and Series S consoles at the same time, as well as PCs. In addition, like other titles produced by Microsoft's internal studios, Elder Scrolls VI will come free to all Xbox Game Pass subscription holders.
