After multiple scandals, getting bought by Microsoft, and trying to turn a new leaf, Activision Blizzard is making strides to have games be the focal point once more. They want to be in the news thanks to the games they make, not the scandals they cause.

So, the company has released a little tidbit in which they gave a roadmap for upcoming updates and releases.

Warcraft Coming to Mobile

A few years ago at Blizzcon fans were hyped to find out a new Diablo was going to be released, only to be completely and utterly heartbroken to find out the announcement was not for a new Diablo game for PC, but rather one for mobile. Well, now Blizzard will release Warcraft on mobile as well!

According to the Blizzard roadmap, ‘expansion is on the horizon’ which will include a Hearthstone expansion reveal, a World of Warcraft expansion and a Warfraft mobile game as well.

These aren’t the first whispers of a Warcraft mobile game though. Back in 2018 Kotaku claimed that there was a mobile Warcraft game in the works at Activision Blizzard. This supposed Warcraft game would mirror Pokémon Go, but we all know the Pokémon Go hype has died down since 2018.

Why Would Activision Blizzard Work on a Mobile Game?

Mobile Games are much cheaper to make and with China and India, two of the largest gaming populations in the world, prefer mobile games this seems like a no-brainer for most companies. Making mobile games is quicker, easier and much more cost-efficient, which is why a lot of developers have invested more into the mobile games market.

Diablo Immortal is set to release in 2022 for mobile and with Warcraft also getting a mobile release, there are sure to be more mobile games to follow suit in time. Assassin's Creed mobile anyone?
