Ahhh the past – luscious jungles, glistening water and some wandering sauropods in the distance. But these natural beauties are in danger, the big asteroid aka the announced remaster of Ark: Survival Evolved is heading towards the servers to shut them down. Well, the destruction of your dinosaurs will take a little bit longer.

Ark: Survival Evolved Remaster Gets Delayed
The popular dinosaur survival MMO Ark: Survival Evolved will continue to exist a little longer, since it seems to be the case, that the planed remaster is delayed. This was announced by Ark's developers Studio Wildcard in a forum post. The Remaster, titled ARK: Survival Ascended, was set to be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Seris X|S in August 2023.
According to the forum roadmap, the release of the remaster will be pushed back to October 2023, without naming a more specific date.
Survivors, After much deliberation, we’ve decided to delay the launch of ARK: Survival Ascended to later this year and ship the title on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC in October 2023.
As stated by Studio Wildcard, the challenge to work with Unreal Engine5.2 and all the new opportunities presented by this engine are the reason behind the delay.
We’ve found it challenging working with Unreal Engine 5.2, but at the same time, it is incredibly exciting. We’re discovering new ways each day to push the technology to the next level; combined with the work needed to support a fully cross-platform-moddable game ecosystem on consoles and PC, it’s clear that we’ll need a bit more time.
Some players will be very happy about this news, for sure, since the announcement also means, that the servers will continue to exist for a while longer. The date of the shutdown was also rescheduled to September 30th. So you can play a little while longer with your buildings and dinosaurs before the big asteroid is coming to shut down everything.
To make up for the delay, the price of ARK: Survival Ascended gets a reduction to $44.99, and first-day-buyers can get it for $39.99.
It will be interesting to see how the community might react to this news, and how Ark Survival Ascend will look in several months. But now enjoy the time that's left on the original game and pet your dinosaurs for us.
