The League of Legends Arena mode is back and while there are a few bugs and issues, especially with Yuumi and stalling comps, there is an ongoing balance happening to make sure that the game mode is as fun and equald for everyone and every champion.

So, to ensure that the game doesn't go out of control, Riot is going to be removing a couple of Augments that are harder to balance while Riot is on holiday over Christmas.

Riot Phroxzon has revealed on Twitter/X that a couple of augments will be removed from the game. He noted that while the curse Augments have been popular and fun, they do provide some balance challenges, which is why they've been disabled for the foreseeable future.

They're a bit too good on certain champions, while having amongst the lowest average placements. It's good that some augments are great on certain champions, but ideally we'd want these ones to be a little more broad. Despite this, they are still very popular!

Some of the mechanics of these Augments has also led to these stalling comps that have been dominating Arena throughout the second run, which is why Riot is going to remove them as well until they're able to improve the Augments and monitor them to add them back into the game.

There have been a few other mid-patch updates added to the game with mages receiving some buffs, as well as mage items, so they can fight off large tanks.

The next League of Legends, and therefore Arena, patch is going to be released on January 10, 2024 so we'll see how the meta unfolds until then without the curse Augments.
