Over the weekend, Cloud9 released their head coach LS go for unknown reasons. The team had won 3 games and lost one unfortunate game to Team Liquid. Four hours before the start of their fifth game of the LCS Spring Split, the team was informed of LS’ departure.

With a decent record under their belt and only being two-weeks into the season, the announcement came as a shock. Everyone outside the team was perplexed by the decision. The team had a decent record and their stats were making the LCS fun to watch again.

Why Was LS Released From C9?

The reason why LS was released from C9 is unknown. Cloud9 has released a statement video, with a lot of production value, but in the 3-minute post, we learn absolutely nothing. Jack does state that there was a difference in coaching philosophies.

The thing that has so many fans upset though, is that LS is one of the most transparent people in the League community when it comes to his wacky ideas and picks. Therefore, it seems odd that C9 didn’t think that there could be some friction with coaching philosophies.

If you’re curious about the statement, just watch it right here. We see lips moving, hear sound, but no new information is given to us and nothing is being explained. PR wins.

How Has The Community Reacted To LS’ Departure and C9’s Statement?

Many fans have been worried about LS. The former coach left South Korea only a few weeks earlier to start his career with C9. He did send out a tweet saying he was alright, but fans were still upset about the situation.

Even casters and talents from around the world have chimed in. Jankos, G2's jungler, went as far as to say that the LCS is not worth watching anymore due to the departure of LS.

Of course, the high production value statement was also memed by fans since 100 Thieves owner Nadeshot had done a similar ‘explanation’ video with regard to their Valorant roster only a day before, wherein he was much more transparent and filmed it on what looked to be an iPhone.

LS has also already streamed once since he was let go by C9, wherein he told fans that he could not talk about the situation right now and that he couldn’t give fans the answers they wanted.

This whole situation seems like a mess. The LCS has only had three weeks of play thus far and TSM is imploding, C9 is losing a fan base and everyone is predicting Team Liquid to take the crown in 2022.
