Champion Mastery is a system in League of Legends where you can show your expertise over a champion. At least that's what it was back in the days. The system is out for so long that most people don't think anything of it anymore. Its just different colored pixels. Could that change in 2024?
The Mastery System got introduced to League of Legends in 2015 and hasn't seen a lot of changes since then. Many Players disregard it nowadays, since the only thing that changed about it was the introduction of another pointless system called “Eternals”.
This paid progression to upgrade the free year-old progression really doesn't catch a lot of players anymore, so Riot is looking to change up something about Mastery in 2024.
League of Legends Mastery Update In 2024
In the new LoL Dev Monetization Video, Riot Games briefly mentioned Champion Mastery. They have said that they have no plans for champion mastery to involve spending. It is meant as a system to reward players for their dedication and skill on their favorite champion. This dedication is not going to be bypassed by spending.
Riot Developer BarackProbama has also mentioned on Reddit that the Blue Essence cost to upgrade mastery tokens will be taken out.

Personally, I would be a huge fan of a bigger Mastery Rework or Update. I have multiple champions with high mastery points, and just capping the level at 7 is a bit boring. What if we could go to 100? And maybe get a Milestone Skin? What would you change about the Mastery System?
