Following the tragedy of the Titan submarine, a full documentary will soon be available on Netflix.

On June 11, a documentary about the ill-fated Titan submersible from Oceangate will be released on Netflix. While some X users are looking forward to it, there are also many critical voices.
Small Vehicle, Big News
Everyone has heard about the Titan disaster at least once. The accident made headlines around the world. The tourism and expedition company Oceangate offered an excursion to the sunken wreck of the Titanic, with tickets reportedly costing around $150,000 to $200,000. After the last successful communication from the underwater vehicle, news sources around the world began counting down the time until the Titan was expected to run out of oxygen.
However, it later emerged that a loud bang had been heard on the support ship above water, and once it became clear that the submersible and its passengers would not be returning to the surface, countless search parties were formed to locate the wreckage. Subsequent investigations revealed that the Titan must have imploded.

The Community's Reaction
The countdown alone generated an enormous number of memes on the internet. This was partly due to the crew, which consisted of millionaires, while others were already aware of the history of Oceangate and the Titan submersible. It therefore did not take long for the topic to be exploited in minute detail by news channels, YouTubers, and streamers.
Now, two years later, Netflix has decided that it wants a piece of the pie and has announced that it will release a documentary about the events on June 11. However, the reaction from the X community has been mixed.

Divided Opinions
While some users are looking forward to the documentary and thus a complete description of things, there are many people in the comments on Netflix's official trailer who question the necessity of such a documentary.
"they just sank we don’t need a whole documentary about it"
"we already know how this ends and somehow it’s still getting a doc"
In general, viewers are divided in their opinions, as there is criticism that a documentary about such recent events, in which several people lost their lives, should be released. There is also criticism of how Netflix chooses the topics it produces documentaries about.
While it feels like pure money-making to many, it is nevertheless clear that there is interest in the documentary. This is confirmed by a survey on X, in which 58% of users said they were looking forward to the Netflix production.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to the documentary, or do you find it distasteful?
