With Sony shutting down the developer studio of Concord, we now know for sure that there won’t be a return of the game.

After rumors about a possible return of Concord due to updates on Steam, the few fans the game still had got the sad news that Sony finally pulled the plug.
Nowadays we’re so used to rumors made by insiders or fans often turning out to be true, that most people were almost sure that Concord would make a comeback. Maybe not a good one, but a comeback nonetheless. Especially with a lot of updates on the games Steam page while it was offline, most people were certain about a renewed version – maybe even a free-to-play one.
But this time, in the end, all the rumors and speculations turned out to be wrong, because Sony decided to shut down the developer studio behind the PlayStation shooter.
The closure was confirmed by a post on Firewalk Studio’s website, sharing an email from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s boss Hermen Hulst. In the mail, he said:
We consistently evaluate our games portfolio and status of our projects to ensure we are meeting near and long-term business priorities. As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen SIE's Studio Business, we have had to make a difficult decision relating to two of our studios - Neon Koi and Firewalk Studios.
Hulst goes on about the decision being part of the strategy to "expand beyond PlayStation devices and crafting engaging online experiences" and that "certain aspects of Concord did not land with enough players, resulting in the game being taken offline". After exploring all their options in the last few months, in the end, they decided to keep the game shut down and close Firewalk Studio.
