Failed developer pleads for second chance – and funding for their next experiment

You'd think that a studio that was responsible for one of the biggest debacles in the history of Steam would have faded into obscurity for a while. But no, Fntastic are back – and they want your money.

Remember The Day Before? An apocalyptic shooter that topped Steam's most wanted list, only to fail so spectacularly it's almost impressive.

From one disaster to the next?

From hype to complete failure in record time – a scenario that no one could have predicted. In just a few days, the game disappeared into the depths of the internet as if it had never existed.

Now, developer Fntastic is back with a tweet that is likely to raise more eyebrows than applause. They're asking for a second chance – and plan to launch a new project on Kickstarter.

Escape Factory: A chance for a fresh start

In case you're wondering, do they think people still trust them after the disaster of The Day Before? Yes, they do. Or at least they don't have any other choice.

At first glance, Escape Factory seems very different from its predecessor. This time it's not about a bleak post-apocalyptic world, but about physics-based multiplayer fun. Sound good? It might. With up to 8 players, you'll have to escape tricky space factories while overcoming obstacles.

You can already play a demo on Steam and add the game to your wishlist. So if you're ready to (maybe) relive the trauma of The Day Before, give it a go.
