According to estimates from Sensor Tower, Grand Theft Auto 6 is rapidly approaching five million pre-orders across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
With GTA 6 scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, pre-order figures are projected to climb significantly over the final stretch leading up to release day.
GTA 6 Pre-Orders Are Already Generating Hundreds of Millions
At the time of writing, Sensor Tower's estimates place GTA 6 at 4.86 million pre-orders and approximately $476 million in pre-order revenue.
PlayStation 5 accounts for roughly 77% of estimated purchases, while Xbox Series X/S represents the remaining 23%.
The data also indicates that around 90% of pre-orders have been for the $99.99 Ultimate Edition. This version includes the base game along with bonus content such as premium vehicles, exclusive weapons, and specialty shop access across Leonida.
The Standard Edition, priced at $79.99, makes up the remaining 10% of purchases and includes only the base game.
The GTA 6 Hype Continues to Grow
The pre-order surge comes as Rockstar ramps up marketing efforts for GTA 6. The studio recently showcased an extended look at the title on Netflix, giving fans a deeper look at Vice City alongside protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
Back in 2013, GTA 5 reportedly sold 11.2 million copies in its first 24 hours, going on to break Guinness World Records as the highest-grossing game in 24 hours and the fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion. Early metrics suggest GTA 6 is on track to challenge and potentially surpass those benchmarks.
Despite the commercial momentum, Rockstar faced pushback from community members in late June when the developer confirmed that physical editions will contain only a digital download code rather than a game disc. How much that decision affects retail performance leading into launch remains to be seen.
