GTA VI Trailer Turns Out To Be AI Fake – And Google Fell For It

For years, fans have been waiting for GTA 6, only to be utterly let down by a Google notification.

Imagine this. You’ve been waiting years for GTA 6. Everything seemed perfect. The plan to break your leg right on release day so you can call in sick for a few weeks? Solid. Then comes the first setback: release delayed again – fantastic. But whatever, because there it is: the silver lining. Finally, the notification you’ve been waiting for all this time pops up. The final trailer is here.

The Biggest Slap In The Face For GTA Fans

You yeet your firstborn out of your hands and tap that Google notification with pure hope, ready to open the trailer. But then: strangely sluggish, blurry movements, dead eyes, and the slow realization that something is seriously off. Is it – no, it can’t be – oh yes, it’s AI.

Over half a million people watched this AI sludge. Half. A. Million. People. All briefly thinking, “Holy cow, this is it!”, only to realize the characters in it have the facial expression of a deceased goldfish.

And Of Course, It’s Google’s Fault

But the real highlight? Google of all companies decided that you absolutely needed to see this AI nonsense. Not in search results, not as a random recommendation under some video – no, via a push notification straight to your phone. The like–dislike ratio? Obviously a massive, glowing pile of frustration. And the comments aren’t any better: the general vibe swings somewhere between “Google played us all” and “I swear my phone hates me.”

Not that Google has been impressing anyone with its AI lately – but now the algorithm is pushing AI fakes at us and crushing our last hopes? Not cool. If you want to take a look at the disaster yourself, go ahead. Enjoy. I’ll be over here prompting myself a new trailer.
