The designated marksman rifles or DMRs are usually semi-automatic weapons for longer distances and thus considered small sniper rifles. They have less damage and range than snipers but a much higher fire rate and mobility. If you can aim well, you can replace an assault rifle with a DMR or use it for quick scoping.
