Estate wasn't symmetrical, so it wasn't balanced well for certain game modes. But for Headquarters, Hardpoint, and even SnD, it was a fantastic map. Everyone will remember the frenzy of trying to hold that house in the center. | © Activision Blizzard

Seatown didn't have a very original aesthetic, but it's perhaps the single best attempt by Infinity Ward to create a competitive map, and was therefore perfectly balanced for many modes. This might even it make into Modern Warfare 2 as a remastered map. | © Activision Blizzard

Okay, this is the only pick on the list that I can see being controversial. While it frankly didn't work for most modes, District is one of the best Search and Destroy maps in CoD history. And for that alone, it deserves a place on this list. | © Activision Blizzard

This should require no explanation. Favela had it all; a vibrant theme, an original setting, and it worked well for almost every mode.
