Snipers in Warzone should one-shot people with a headshot. Sadly, they don't in Warzone 2... except for this one specific Victus XMR build that uses high-explosive ammunition. Obviously, this is therefore the only sniper you should be using. Here's the build.
Warzone 2 and the DMZ are both currently played on the massive Al Mazrah map. When we first saw just how big this map was instantly thought that snipers would be the meta... but then they took away the ability for snipers to one-shot headshot (for some unknown reason). However, this build of the Victus XMR takes advantage of a loophole by using explosive ammunition to deal just enough damage to one-shot headshot. And so it looks like snipers are back on the menu boys!
The Best Victus XMR Attachment Setup
|Unlock Requirements||Attachment Tuning|
|Barrel||Mack 8 33.5||Victus XMR to Level 3||Aim Walking Speed (-0.02 lb) / Damage Range (+0.30 in)|
|VLK LZR 7MW||STB 556 to Level 5||Default|
FTAC Locus SP
|EBR-14 to Level 5|
Aim Down Sight (-1.20 oz) / Far (-0.45 in)
|Victus XMR to Level 19||Aim Down Sight (-3.00 oz) / Aiming Idle Stability (+2.00 in)|
|Ammunition||.50 Cal Explosive||Signal 50 to Level 23|
Damage Range (+0.60 g) / Bullet Velocity (+8.00 gr)
With sniper rifles, we can always follow some basic rules when we're choosing attachments. We want to maximize bullet velocity, damage range and aim down sight speed, while sacrificing recoil control. The only exception in this build is that we're also taking high explosive ammunition, but we have to if we want to deal enough damage to one-shot down people.
For optics, we're loving the FTAC Locus SP, but there are literally hundreds of great options in Modern Warfare 2. You should choose whatever feels most comfortable to you, but we highly recommend an optic with variable zoom strength.
- For the fast weapon-levelling, we advise you buy Modern Warfare 2.
WZ 2.0 M4 Loadout: Secondary, Perks & Equipment
Secondary: X13 Auto
Because we're being forced to use the Warzone 2 default perk-packages right now we can't take Overkill and Ghost at the same time. Ghost is more important in the current meta (and you can gain the effects of Overkill when you buy a second weapon at the buy-station anyway), so we'll pick Ghost and use a sidearm for our secondary weapon.
When it comes to sidearms there are some good options out there, but we think for most players in most situations the X13 auto with a 50-round mag is the best way to go. You can see our favorite build above, basically a pocket SMG.
Perks (Base, Bonus & Ultimate)
In Warzone 2. 0 we have to choose a pre-made perk package, which, if we want to play Ghost, means we have to pick the Spectre Package.
|Perk Package||Specter Package|
Double Time / Tracker
It's annoying that we can't just make our own Perk Package, but to be fair this one isn't bad. Ghost is obviously clutch, and both Double Time and Tracker are decent. Not many people would pick Spotter over a Bonus perk like Fast Hands, but it's not entirely useless.
Equipment (Lethal & Tacticals)
The Drill Charge is just amazingly good fun, so we'll take that. Plus we can use it against vehicles (and thanks to the ridiculous speed at which you throw the Drill Charge it will probably hit). Then for a tactical we've gone for Flash grenades. Now in most Call of Duty games the stun is superior, but in MW2 and Warzone 2 the flash from this grenade is insane, and even more effective than the stun grenade.
So that's our recommendation for a good Warzone 2.0 sniper loadout. If you just hate snipers though, you can't go wrong with the Lachmann 556 right now.
