The victim of the incident was 21-year-old Tanner Cook, who mainly does practical joke content for his YouTube channel. One of these pranks recently got way out of hand, ending with Cook getting shot.

The shooter has been charged with “aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm within a building.”

The YouTuber suffered serious injuries to his stomach, but luckily he survived and seems to be in a stable condition, even being able to give a statement to WUSA9.

“I was playing a prank and a simple practical joke, and this guy didn’t take it very well,” Cook explained. “He didn’t say anything to me.”

YouTube pranks are controversial, as this is not the first time things have gotten out of hand, but this was definitely the worst case we've seen of a "prank gone wrong".
