How Bad Will Ronaldo And Messi Get In FIFA 23?

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have always been among the absolute elite in FIFA for the past ten years. The two actually always fought for 1st and 2nd place in the list of the best rated players. Is the era of the two world footballers ending in FIFA 23

It happened as it had to: After Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were not in the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time in 16 (!) years last season, the whole story happened again this year. Paris Saint-Germain were knocked out by Real Madrid and Manchester United were beaten by Atlético Madrid. The culprits were quickly identified (even quicker for PSG fans): Messi and Ronaldo.

The Portuguese turned 37 in February and the Argentine will turn 35 in June. And many fans agree: they're world class, yes – but anything more than that? Where are the spectacular individual actions of the two exceptional players in the CL? For Messi, it was the first time after 13 consequent rounds of 16 with at least one scorer point in a row where he didn't manage to get one. Ronaldo stayed without a shot against Atlético for only the third time in a Champions League game ever.

Of course, the two are not solely to blame for the end of their team's dreams – but you've seen other games and actions from both of them. Actions that single-handedly decided games.

How Good Will Messi And Ronaldo Be In FIFA 23?

This is exactly why there is a hot debate, not only on Reddit: How good will Messi and Ronaldo be in the next part? Or in other words: Will the Messi and Ronaldo era end in FIFA 23?

From FIFA 11 to FIFA 21, the 1st and 2nd best players in FIFA were always the two superstars Messi and Ronaldo. In FIFA 22, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski moved up to 2nd place with 92 OVR, ahead of CR7 (91 OVR).

How good the two will actually be in FIFA 23 is pure speculation at the moment. But not least because of their early elimination in the Champions League, things should go down for both of them in FIFA 23. As we said, they are not getting any younger. We could imagine a rating of 91 for both. Ronaldo has fallen from 93 to 91 in the last three years, while Messi has dropped from 94 to 93. The Argentine will definitely face a downgrade in the next FIFA.

In any case, we hope that the two will stay with us for a few more years on the pitch. They're not going away in FIFA anyway. Both will (hopefully) find a place in our teams as Icons immediately after the end of their careers (as if you could ever afford Messi or CR7 Icons).

Who Will Be The Best Player In FIFA 23?

EA seems to have already found a new superstar. Kylian Mbappé still "only" has a 91 in FIFA – but as a meta high-flyer, everyone would rather have him in the team than Messi and Ronaldo.

If you look at the best players in FIFA 22, it quickly becomes clear that Mbappé has a good chance of getting an even higher rating – depending on the CL season and remaining league performance, the best player in FIFA 23 will probably be Robert Lewandowski, Mohamed Salah or Karim Benzema.
